Trying to figure out why there's such a big price disparity between these 2 fish at 2 different LFS. First LFS has 2 Sailfins - one is large (5-6") for $90 and an xlarge at about 7" for $110. The other LFS has a large Naso at about 5-6" for $200. Personally I do prefer the Naso more but not $110 more. If that Naso was $90 or even $110 I probably would have picked it up as my show fish.

There are two types of sailfins. The desjardini are more desirable vs the Indian so maybe they have the Indian. Maybe look for a smaller naso, they grow pretty quickly. If your looking for a center piece show fish I wouldn't buy a fish I didn't really want to save $110 but that's me. My naso was about 2" when I got her almost 8 years ago. She's one of my favorite fish. Beautiful and very peaceful. I've read of some sailfins being aggressive.

About equally. Both do best in pretty big tanks though. If your tank is 5-6ft I would recommend the smaller Zebrasoma (Yellow, Purple, Scopas, Gem) Bristletooth or Acanthurus Tangs (IMO not an Achilles or Powder Blue for a 5ft).

Really depends on the store. If I remember correctly, where I work (Petco, I know) the naso and regular sailfins are each $80. Capitalism is such that if you can sell something for a higher price, you do. But I'm not sure which is more desirable, but it sounds like either a really fancy naso or there's a run on them in your area
