Thanks all, I do appreciate your thoughts. :)

So, worst case 3 to 5 weeks, current best case is the end of March next year.
If the assurance is not in place half way through January the company will go insolvent.
If it goes insolvent I lose out on £60,000 in redundancy, trying not to think about that!

I have 12 days off now, I might take a look at my finances a bit! ;)

I won't do it now as it is a lot of typing and I can't be arsed!
You know those lawyer / corporate greed shows and films, basically we are in the middle of that!
There is an American billionaire that has basically "fornicated" us over, he is destroying the company that others built for him by sacking them.
I so want to headbut him!

Because I have that much time off by the way, I may longer be the responsible adult in the room! :p

That is sad news @najer

As a student of finance, I have seen it too many times where the haphazard, selfish accumulation of money destroys lives. It is a terrible thing.

FWIW, I share that five years ago I was laid off from my job. It was a different situation, of course, but my feelings may have been similar. It was terrible. Like a breakup. I was physically sick to my stomach. I have a family and my wife had stopped working to raise our children. We could have been in real trouble.

I could write at length, but I will cut to the point. It turned out to be a real blessing. Through hard work I was able to find good opportunities. It turned out my life improved a great deal from the change. In many ways, being forced to change made me a stronger person. More confident in my abilities.

The best advice I can give you is to take advantage of all opportunities and try to create as many as you can for yourself. Start now, do not wait until the end. Read up on any government assistance that may be available (I am unfamiliar with the UK system). There is no shame in anything that will help bridge the gap in your transition.

Good luck and know we all hope the best for you.

At the risk of sounding political -- late stage capitalism is a thing, and it sucks for everybody but an extreme select few.

Najer, I'm competing with your trachy now. Apparently I have one (or two) and was mislead into being told they were Acans. They used to look like Acans but they're all foldy now.

This must be a typo. I read on the internet that you can't grow coral in a one month old tank. ;) :p

That is old and fake news.

I just saw Rakies picture dump and saw a trachy that is indeed a great competitor.
There might be some truth in this assumption.
