Lid planning.... does this seem like a weird spot to put the plank?

I can't find the other mounting system... could print something to glass mount it though if needed.... Trying to figure out if having the cutout for the feeder jutting off of the cutout for the overflow like that would be a problem....

Hard to tell. But it looks fine.
I just don't know if I should keep digging for the glass mount stuff that came with it, design my own since everything was printed anyway (and I refuse to buy something I can print myself esp when they're going to print the part to send me) or if this'll be okay.... the overflow grates are there, hold on...

but I think w/ the feeding tube it drops it in a decent space so it won't go straight into the sump... also my fish are voracious monsters.

Light brackets might be in the way :loudly-crying-face: Husband is being a pita in helping me with any of this and every time I try to sit down and do it myself I get complained at.

Maybe I just scrap the entire idea of using this feeder again

I would be worried about the food coming out of the feeder and going right back down the overflow.

Edit sorry you addressed this. I'm late.

How on earth are aluminum extrusion rods so incredibly flimsy?

This would be so much easier if he'd just agree to ceiling hang the * lights to begin with.

I'm ready to throw in the towel and sell it all. I'm so tired of him insisting everything has to be over engineered because "fish people are stupid and that's going to fail" to literally every example I find.

Okay he wins. Fish people (me) are stupid.

This stupid light came with side mounts to begin with that I forgot existed in the box.

They extend far enough to work for this length.

We just need to 3d print a different overflow lid to account for the bracket being there.

I hate myself.

Only concern I see is having it on the overflow will block access if necessary. Also, when it feeds it will potentially suck a bunch into the overflow if you don't have the return pump shut off for 15 minutes or so, before, during, and after Plank feeding.
