Kathy had an appointment in Springfield today and we had errands to run while we were there. There’s a shop @sfin52 recommended some time ago. It’s quite small but he had a fish we couldn’t leave without. Kathy saw it first though and loved it. It’s a blue velvet damsel. It still has its electric blue streaks and just a touch of yellow left in its now mainly white stripe. So far it looks like the denizens of the deep have accepted him. There was some squabbling earlier but the new guy has made the extreme right hand side of the tank his home.

I know these guys can reach 6 inches in length but I doubt it will get bigger than 4 or 5 inches. Still this fish might just keep the lunare wrasse in check. Dory might too. She was chasing the yellow tailed damsel and the blue velvet damsel for a while there but she was one of the first fish to stop chasing him. The clowns accepted him pretty much from the get go. The yellow tailed damsel still gives a brief chase now and then but not like earlier.

Here are the bumblebee snails. This was taken a few hours ago.

They’re still doing well. They’re on the glass right now, not far from where they were when I released them. They’re doing better than the lay snail I acclimated and released. That one was already falling off the glass after about 2 hours.

My lfs gets these all the time and I've been thinking of trying one for my eel tank. Hoping the damsel side of it keeps it from being food, and its so pretty in person!

I met Dustin and I agree. He carries some of the BRS stuff which is good. Coral wise he mainly has euphyllia but he had some acros and zoanthids too. He also has a decent supply of fish and inverts for such a small store.

I saw that about the gas line break. I haven't been to town in days though, are all the stores closed then?
Not all the stores or restaurants but anyone who depends on natural gas has limited options. 3 to 5 days minimum before Avista can get around for a relight of customers. They manually shut everyone down over the last couple days. That means visiting each home or business to restart. 37000 customers will take time due to limited number of staff to handle the process.
