I'll be trying to figure out my Internet again today. When my town went dark from the fire last week, we also had several power surges prior to the outage. I think this fried my router. I've been having connection issues since, tried replacing cables, and finally reinstalled the old router. It's connected now and haven't had connection loss so I'm thinking the problem is in fact, the new router. The old one is not powerful enough for all our TVs and devices so I'll be limping until a new one arrives. But at least I know where my problem was.

I know nothing about routers only that I need one, so it makes shopping for one difficult.

I also know nothing of routers. However, I got this one off amazon. 75.00. This one is great because it has a "channel" for 2.4g and another for 5g. I run all my tank stuff on 2.4 because it needs it and the house stuff on 5.
