Not with faded color on a fish. 1 to 3 things cause lack of color. Unhappy which could = stressed which can lead to illness. Illness from being poisoned. So in this case... at least 1 thing is true.

Nah, based on his coloration at a minimum 1 of the 3 was true. Could have been stressed or unhappy only or stressed due to illness. Either way, I didn't feel like risking it.

I feel you. Thats where good drinks come into play. Unless you're like me and the bottom of the glass pops off... yes it happened a few times. I use plastic or ceramic now.

Homie, CA glue is a perfectly acceptable for light duty applications joining polycarbonate and acrylic. It doesn't fuse by melting, but does make a strong enough joint.

I toyed around with it on acrylic before and was unable to snap the two pieces apart.

Please don't roast me but for my built in sump kit where acrylic met acrylic I just used super glue. It's held up very well.
