Yes, this recipe works. Leds are great, and I plan on using Reefbreeders exclusively for growout. I just cannot and will not give up t5, my entire reefing journey had used them, I actually live the flat linear light, shimmer is good, I can always toss a couple of Kessils on for that effect....hmmmm
(2) Orphek OR3’s and Reefbrite 2 bulb T5 in the middle on my newest (2 stacked tanks) 30B backup system. I agree with you. T5’s just make healthy corals.

Thanks Tim, probably has something to do with 10xt5, lol... Between ph and t4's, man, the growth is off the chain, seeing daily growth in many corals.
I am now a ph believer :)

The Orphek OR3 bars are so classy, absolutely live the pop, but those t5's light up the tank, no shadows, at all...
Your corals are definitely healthy! The Peng's Purple Tip and FHC Hell On Earth are almost mini colonies already. Great stuff brother! I also love that golden flame, I think that's what you call it :)

Yes, I get a nice spectrum on the new system with that combo.

Some new pieces coming in soon...

Peng's Blue Monster
AV99 Glowstick
Aquascene Ice Fire Echinata
JF Blade Simplex

These additions will pretty much max me out. Barring a Purple Monster, or ORA Dustins Deepwater (endless pursuit), or something crazy, I think it's time to grow my collection out, and begin my propagation system for backup and future cuttings.

That’s funny! I was watching your video earlier and was so excited to see a purple monster when you started naming the old skool stuff and it was no where to be found. I need to get that piece I haven’t seen one in years!

That one evades me my friend...
The endless search for Dustins Deepwater is probably the reason for my smoothie obsession. It's not even that special, just a very odd growth pattern, that I am yet to find even an imposter. The JF Blade Simplex looks unique and maybe slightly similar, definitely odd, definitely will be a prize to me. I also have a local buddy who has the legit OG 30k Lokani, it will be another addition I can find room for.
The PM, just to know it's out there, that's pretty cool. Hopefully it will be available in the neat future. That's way more hopeful than the Dustins.
Sometimes, it's about preserving some of the OG classics, and to me, they become more collectible.

This is 100% because of "new school" mentality. I have a local buddy that will have 100% of my coral and his equally the same. This way we preserve lineage. I bet these goodies are still around, just in the hands of those who don't do social media, lol...

I’ve heard the purple monster pretty much diminished with the rise of leds and the majority of people lost them.. true or not idk.. if it’s true it might be the same with the lokanis… I wish I had all my corals from 15 years ago! I’ll never find half of them gems again..

I am not sure it's so much LED, but how they are not being utilized with all channels creating a robust full spectrum. I have noticed all blue spectrum led grown corals look drab when you crank full spectrum. Either way, I feel more hobbyist will eventually figure this out. I wish I had so many corals back from the day, lol...
Gotta find these gems, grow them out, share with a trusted local hobbyist that does the same, then try and make a few bucks. This takes time, and a process that should be enjoyed.
