Really love all your corals (and nice photography as well!)

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words :) The photography aspect of the hobby is really cool, getting a photo that exactly represents the mood is intended. The last photo, with the Three Rainbow Mango flowering out, with the Sunset Milli showing those sunset colors, against the blueish grey wall behind the side-shot really grabbed my attention. From there, I slightly adjust temp, satuation, contrast, and light settings to get the exact real life representation.
Learning more everyday!

@Sweet Reef Corals @coral reeftank

I am happy to bring the conversation here, please feel free to share, this thread/journal is for open-discussion, no derailment here ;)
Ask Allan, we endlessly beat up these issues, so, I am happy to discuss!

Also, for anyone interested, I will put out a video on Y-tube today. I will discuss Rebiotic, building a biome, industry myths, and bacteria as it relates to a food source.

Thanks for following :)

This was a sleeper, and trending, but now the colors are getting out of hand!

After communicating with Allan, it appears that the predominant color should be orange, polyps are there, growth looking good. I actually like this color combo, despite lineage suggesting other tones. I suspect that some is in the t5 lighting, and perhaps this one craves more lighting. I moved the lamps down a bit, looking to get a bit more punch, see how others respond :)

Thanks brother!
Happy to see they are good for you, I am quite pleased, porous, yet have weight to stay anchored. Thanks for following along my friend!

@coral reeftank and I are working on doing a live stream on Y-tube, as I would like to begin "Acro Hour" on Friday between 6-8pm EST. My idea, noted, right here on R2R, in case someone tries to loot the idea, lol... Sorry, but you never know.
We have some topics/ideas, but what do you guys think? Anyone interested in this?
Other ideas for maybe IG stream, again still just spit balling :)
Together, this and the IG community and my youtube subs will help to make this fun, hopefully we can learn and grow together!!!

Yeah, I'll totally watch! If you guys could start one hour later, that would be great- it'd give me enough time to hit the gym after work and grab a beer!

We stick growers love the colors. It's amazing how much many of them can vary from system to system.

Perry just watched one of your videos I'm curious why you backed off of the reef roids and went back to PO4 dosing? I'm having some coral (and weird algae) issues and being busy with work it is easy to let the tank go on autopilot during the week. I think I'm going to start dosing nitrate while feeding reef roids (to keep PO4 from bottoming out and keep PO4 measurable).

P04 went from needing to add, to sustaining based on feeding fish, I was adding roids/p04, but no longer need to since pulling the sock. NO3 is also growing. I am seeing an increase, daily, based on my desired levels, based on fish feeding alone. Pulling the sock was literally depleting nutrients, they are now living in the system, so they are growing. To counter, I am seeing how nitrifying bacteria and carbon source(NP Pro) impact both nutrients. They tend to naturally settle at 100/1 which is fine, not shooting for that, its just what happens. I see that regardless of level tested.
Before the sock pull, and sandbed addition to the prop tank, I was adding p04 at 1/4 tsp roids per day, plus 1ml of Seachem Phosphorous. Days I did not feed roids, I dosed 2ml. So, I am now having the opposite occur and based on normal feeding, the nutrients are now both growing, slightly, but that said, supplementation is not currently required. This is where testing can be a great tool. I do so every 24 hours, and will continue, until I reach that point where I feel the tank is totally mature. Until then, things can go wompy, this keeps me ahead of the curve...
today- n03-12.6ppm p04- .11ppm. These are great values, I have no worries.
That said, I am getting closer to knowing exactly how much a drop of carbon source(NP Pro) and nitrifying bacteria drop(Bio S) influence the nutrient levels, over 24 hour period. I believe I am really close, but not 100% My guess, for 200 gallons, based on my bio-load, filtration, and feeding, 4 drops of each will keep me exactly at previous day values. The more we learn.... :)

This is so true! I believe the lighting type is where these anamolies come along, then nutrients. I was a huge admirer of Krztoff Tryc's tank back in the day, the electric pastel colors, simply blew me away. That has always been the chase. Zeovit certainly can get you there, zeospur specifically, but this is the dangerous part of the hobby, the chase...
I also think that t5 systems show different color hues, which is sometimes not picked up by even the keenest of eye. I am lucky to be able to have t5 driving my display, and quite the opposite in all LED running my prop system. Given the same water, this allows me to create tests, where I can observe how corals appear under different lighting conditions.
Both types of light, offer very unique advantages, hoping to uncover some of the differences.
I will be cutting and growing several corals in both lighting, it will be something that I will occasionally share, for those interested :)

I love Krzysztof's tank..............did you know he switched to bio pellets away from zeo when he got his last TOTM?

Yes, then went on to develop his own line of additives. I keep the articles open on my phone, and re-read constantly, because, well, I still don't think I have ever seen something quite as unique, and amazing, and like you, been in this a minute...
He had advanced knowledge, that I am, after 16 years into bacterial-driven systems, just starting to get. Running pellets, and having success with them, was a testament to his deep connection to his aquarium and the idea of how carbon dosing works in it.
Damian, who is with Aquaforest, but way in the background, has been able to also achieve these levels. As with many Polish reefers I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing, they do not really offer up info, you sort of have to pull it out of them, lol. He was Debora's mentor. Something in the water is what I have been saying all these years, cause that region, they just know reefing! Being a neighbor to Germany doesn't hurt either ;)
Side note, you still rocking t5's? 10 of them bad boys over my display, lol..
Cheers brother!

Edit: My t5 array is very similar to his bulb combo, lol :)

I remember Debora's tank being spectacular. I'm going to go look at Tryc's...
