Ive got a nice colony of sunset monti. Reddish pinkish orange base with green polyps. Can anyone recommend another Monti that will look and play nice growing next to it? Its currently growing into some mystic but its just taking it over and killing it.

I had montipora eating nudibranchs but they vanished, just stopped munching, not sure what happened. So I can contribute my survivors, which have done quite well. :)

This was one of my pride and joys but when I went on vacation the heat killed my sps edge tank due to heat.

I recently acquired a small frag of this blue eyed Monti and plan on getting it to grow in my build once again.

Are these hard to keep?
For the most part, no. They are pretty easy for an SPS. However, some of the more exotic ones tend to grow a lot slower and are probably more difficult to keep than others.

Sad, but I guess depending on who you ask. Most of my reefer friends like that sunset monti, but my wife, who often asks me when I will shut the tank down and sell everything as I spend too much time with the tank, said the same thing :-(;

Next time, I will do square frag plates, so it will look like a real pyramid! I am making something similar but using Jason Fox jack-o-lantern lepto. Only 2 discs now, so the next plate will be square for sure :)

Oooh, the very rare 'cow patty' monti .......
