I started my newish tank much more minimal than my first reef. I used Tonga branches. There’s 80 pounds in there but looks like nothing. It’s also a great bio filter. I can’t wait for acros to take over!

4 months in. Transferred most of the coral from my 32 biocube which is now my QT and euphillia tank. That ended up taking most the space already unfortunately, the main big drawback of that design . Hopefully people will want some lps mini colonies down the road once I transition to mainly sps ;Joyful

I used to have a fairly minimalist aquascape but then all my corals grew and I accumulated too much crap on my sandbed :bigsmile:

I'm working on cleaning up corals on sandbed and thinning some pieces out to get it looking more open again.

I'm working on cleaning up corals on sandbed and thinning some pieces out to get it looking more open again.

The fight is real - I have to consciously keep things off the sandbed, to avoid the same "problem"

Instead of going with what I posted earlier in this thread I have since changed my mind on my #Minimalist #Aquascape for the new SCA Rimless Build.
Since you can no longer buy #Ultra #Premium #Fiji live rock and I mean the old school stuff that I had bought in 2004 for my mixed reef 120.
I am in the process of recuring around 50 pounds of it in a #Brute Garbage which will be cycling for about 3-5 weeks until all parameters check out.

To speed up my Cycle, I will be #Aquascaping my SCA150 something like this but all of the #Ultra Premium Fiji will be all locked in place for a nice #Minimalist looking #Aquascape

Here's my minimalist aquascape using ceramic vidarocks

@Acroporaaddict - Nice #Vidarock pieces tht you selected for your display!! I bought two large pieces as well. My model numbers are - 1089 & 1079.
#Vidarock is an amazing ceramic one of a kind piece they make! They are not cheap, but they sure will give your display minimalist #zen-like #Aquascape.

I myself prefer one large rock in the center with plenty of hide holes and other interesting shapes. Unless you want more aggressive corals which you would want to put on separate small rocks with sand around so it can't take over or sting other corals

@Jace Alan Carver - Thanks for the tidbits MATE! I am only using Ultra Premium Fiji IS TO KICK START my cycle. I also will be going with a Fishless cycle by Dr. Tim's.

Ones my tank is cycled, I will be taking out the majority of my Fiji live rock out, so I can add my center showpiece made from a company out of NC bc this is where I will be placing and gluing all of my Acro's and Monit's over two @Orphek - Atlantik Compact V4 (Gen 2) LED fixtures that will be getting mounted with there mounting brackets

I put rocks in and set them on top of each other so they were pretty stable.......


Maybe one day when I sell the kids to the slave-trade I will get a bigger rimmless tank, and put some more effort into it.

I am heading into week #4 on recurring around 50 pounds of some old school Ultra Premium Fiji live rock. All my parameters, are spot on with the recurring process thanks to a new product that I tried out!

That is an amazing scape. Did you buy that piece or build it? Love to learn where it came from or how you created this.

I'd almost be reluctant to cover it up with sticks -- and I am a stick lover. Tempting to SPS encrust it or stick zoanthids all over it. This is really beautiful.

Thanks I made the piece using a couple tonga branches and emarco cement.
