Sounds good to me and yes, the carbon is also a great idea. The auto water change will be very helpful and I am quite jealous of it. Honestly, if your system is working, making a change for aesthetic reasons is always a risk. Good luck if you decide to proceed.

Wanted to use negative space while also keeping the rock low so we can add coral on top without looking crowded. Thoughts? The left side is a cove with overhang and a small arch (hard to see in this pic). The right side has a big arch on the right.

Beautiful tank and beautiful scape. Fits the minimalistic approach perfectly. Excellent use of the tank height for a dramatic display.

I really like this. These types of scapes look the best when grown out. The coral does the talking...not the rock.

Lol thanks. I went a little over board on the lights. Followed BRS videos on LEDs and thought I needed a light per foot...

Good! Most fish need a place to bed down at night and prefer to do so hiding in the rocks.

As an 'art project', a few of the minimalist tanks are some of the most beautiful tanks I've ever seen.
Check out some of the cubes with long branching live rock. Absolutely stunning.

A lot of them just need more rock for the sake of the animals that are housed in them.

But aquascape wise, your rocks may be too high to put corals on top of it. It looks like you have two inches of water above the rock.

Love the general layout, but it’s too tall for your tank depth. Lay it out exactly as is, but cut/chip a few inches off of the bottom of your rocks. When you get the coral growing, you want to look in and see coral...not rock.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it's a goldflake hybrid. I'm leaning towards a goldflake and flagfin, but it doesn't quite fit those descriptions either. Either way, it's super bright and awesome. The chevron is awesome as well.

Hmm.. I see what you guys mean about the height at least from the pictures. Using a plastic ruler, I actually have about 4.5 inches from the top of the left rock and 5 inches at the peak of the right rock. Both pieces have a ton of space on the sides that I plan to use. The rock on the right is actually tilted forward, so the vast majority of the rock is nowhere near 5 inches from the top. I'll see if I can get out the rocks and chip away at the bottom for a couple more inches tho. Any thoughts if it's "too" open in the center?
