Magnificent Foxface with fin issue, rot? Bacterial?

Trying to figure out what to do here. My prized foxface had a tear show up on one of its fins a few weeks ago. I monitored daily and he continued to eat and act normal and the fin looked like its healing over the last couple weeks. Staring maybe around Friday last week a little white fluff showed up just above the tear. It's now Tuesday the following week and the spot does not looked to have increased in size at all but turned more into a white patch in the fin. It seams to use that fin a bit less when swimming now. Still eating like a pig and otherwise acting normal.

Any advice?
Should I put him in a quarantine tank and continue to monitor?
Leave him in my main system so as not to add stress as long as nothing gets worse?

Am I just over reacting?

Pics are kinda dark, but I don't see any signs of a major infection.

Any ideas as to who the culprit was? I worry that an injury could repeat from the same source at some point....

Fins can take some time to heal (weeks to months).

Hey thanks Jay I'll try and get a couple with more light. Not sure exactly how it happened but I upgraded my tank about just over a month ago and everything got transfered in. Could have wedged itself in a spot it couldn't get out of easy I guess since all the fish have been finding new spots to "bed down" for the night. No signs of aggression between any of the other fish in the tank.

O.K., I can see the white bump a lot clearer now - that looks to be Lymphocytis. A viral disease that will go away on its own in a month or so with no treatment needed.
The ripped fin will likely heal on its own. Every treatment has some risk, and in this case I think that risk outweighs the potential benefit.
