I use the siphon break hole in my return line. 1/8" or 3/16" works good enough.

Less hard angles mean less restrictions.Is there any benefit to using 45's on the drain plumbing? better flow? personal preference?
yes drill the holes,imagine a hose draining over top of tank, never count on loc line to break siphon...OK, on the return and the subject of siphon break. Since i'm going over the back of the tank, will a back siphon even occur? I'm definitely going to drill a hole as well but was pondering this science....

I hadn't crossed this line yet, I didn't know there were other varieties, I always thought this was a 2 part step, papa was a plumber and had to pass inspections.What glue are you using ? i know there is a newer one ,prime and glue in one is clear.
tried n true for me last 15-20 yrs no need for primer ,good stuff...
