Morning view :)

I’m really enjoying these lights. I know some people aren’t fans but I think it looks a lot better. Very sleek. I just have to find a micro usb to micro usb to hook the pumps up to the lights and they will all go in unison.

Omg guys I love this light. I really hope the little frags do as well :) I have it set where it periodically has rolling clouds throughout the day. It’s also very vibrant. All in all very happy with my purchase.

Shout out to @Pntbll687, he’s a wonderful seller. Sent everything he said, communicated wonderfully.
here’s some pics of my sad, hopefully soon to be happy little frags.

Small update.
I lost one of the zoas dad had bought me. Kinda bummed. I brought home a blue leg hermit and didn’t think he was large enough but he pulled the frag down and the stress of being head first in the sand over night was too much.

The palythoa on the other hand seems very happy it seems to be getting bigger. I’m hoping it takes over the rock it’s on.
I also have cyano brought upon by the rapid change in the lights. I’ve turned the whites down for now, and upped my flow. May need to move the frammer to a spot with a little less flow will see how it responds. Changed the powerheads to wave instead of stream so it seems to be a little better. I also pulled the felt sock today and upped my return flow some as well. Still have the mesh one for the time being. May pull it one day.

Still no skimmer. I’m going to have to buy a pump, somethjng that’s just not in the budget at this time.

I did sell the 60, sadly all that had to go to bills. Other than the cyano and the loss of that frag things are good. Need a test kit as mine had expired. I have no idea where my levels are. Fish are alive, shrimps building tunnels, snails climbing glass. No clue where the ungrateful hermit went too though. I guess things are going good.

All in all we will see. Pics for now. Not the best, but we can’t all have skills like @Fudsey

These last few have the white turned up so you can see the lovely outbreak.

also, my snails have headbangers hair. It’s kinda neat to watch it flow in the current.

If you can, get yourself a Conch for your tank. They do wonders for the sandbed. I have 2 in my tank and they bulldoze around the sand. Only problem is they will push small frags around the sand so you have to be careful on frag placement in the sand. They don't go on rocks so no worries there.

And thanks for the compliment, but I too have issues with my tank ;)

What type would be best? Liveaquaria has fighting conches and I saw another type on another site. I could ask my lfs if they could order one for me. It’s hit or miss though.

Super small update today.
Noticed the other day some cyano. I’ve been skimmer less since setup due to the pump on my skimmer causing some major micro bubbles. Yesterday I had to decide, microbubbles or cyano? So I set it back up in the tank. Once I can come up with another commission I’ll switch the pump out and hopefully it’ll be much better. I need some major cord management still. Set the old Orbit Marine light on the sump for the chaeto. Tried to glue some rock rubble but it just didn’t do what I wanted so it is kinda collapsed. Blennie seems happier and clowns have been playing about. So I guess I’ll leave it for now. I switched the outflow tips out, from the flat to the round. I was told it’s to increase flow. I did turn my pump up all the way, but I feel I need more now with those tips. I was given a Sicce Syncra 2.0, but it’s way less head height and gph than the one I’m using currently. I found the label to mine, it’s an Aquaneat BP 1050.

on the fresh side of things, my pallifina had been trying to establish a dominant male. Which is fine, my big ole guy passed awhile back so they needed to. However the bigger stronger male thought it was cool to keep the little guy in hiding, and not allow him food. So I set the other 29 up for him to recover. Wen I caught him, he was of course shy and he was clearly beaten up. No body damage, just fins. Here he is today, about four days later. Still ripped fins but out and about begging for food like a good little grumpy mouth brooder. I love my bettas <3

Anyhow now I’m rambling. On to the pics

Today I lost a snail. I actually think it was yesterday but it was officially not on the glass today. My single hermit crab is also missing. Could be hiding. I think I’ll have to change the outflow nozzles back to the more streamlined ones. I just don’t think these wider ones are actually giving me enough flow.

Changed the nozzles a minute ago. Seems to have already gotten the flow up. I’ll probably have to move the frammer since it seems to be getting a bit too much. My main issue was cyano, which I know is quite normal during balancing everything. However it was getting stringy and just gently swaying. Now it’s pretty much getting blasted :) still looking for a skimmer, need salt and think I’ll still upgrade the return pump eventually. No pics yet as she’s not too pleasant to view.

Chugging along nicely. Before u know it the time will fly by and the tank will be settled. It's always hard waiting. Some people go fowlr until 6months to ensure everything is solid.

I finally have a skimmer! It’s an SCA 301, missing the lid to the cup. I can get a replacement cheap enough, so when I get the money I’ll be doing that. For now I covered the center with some flex seal tape of a grate to an old keureg. Seems to be working well enough.
