Yesterday was quite exciting. First off, a local friend brought Atlas( my macrostoma guy) a girlfriend. She’s quite a bit smaller than he. The are getting along swimmingly :)

Also, this same person is who had ordered the commission of the mahachai painting. He asked what he owed and I had told him $90.00. He gave me $200.00! It’ll probably go in some bills but if Hubbs gives the go ahead I’ll get that kraken reef lid. Fingers crossed I can spend it on the lid ❤️

And as I was going to bed, I noticed the pallifinas dancing. I woke up to a brooding male :) I’m not expecting full term, as he’s smaller than she and it’s his first time but wow, that makes me happy!

On the salt side, the Duncan seems happy. It’s been open and full colored. It’s a lovely thing! The toadstool has yet to open up, and is getting a “glossy” appearance. I’ve read they sometimes shed in new tanks so, I’m hoping that’s all it is. I really want this to thrive.

Pics of Atlas and his hilarious sad face with his new lady friend. I promise he’s happy.
That’s awesome.
I’m looking for a new lid for my Red Sea 34 gallon. Why do like kraken brand over the others out there?

Top lids starts at $199.00 and the cutout is $25.00. I’m not sure if they have free shipping or not. But it’s significantly more in cost than kraken Reef.

Octo aquatics I have to get measurements for a quote, but I’d like a starting point before. It’s not that I mind having to measure, but I have to get on a step ladder, and measure in spots I still can’t hardly reach. I need nothing cut for cords, just a spot to feed from. Would just prefer a ballpark figure before having to get up there and start that.

KrakenReef is 169.00 with the feed cup cutout, and free shipping. Plus I get a 10% discount from my local reef shop.

I don’t have the materials to diy and it’s gotta have weight. The screen kits are too light weight, macs are powerful accurajumpers and can pop those up easily. Currently I have two panes of glass on the top which is not easy to handle with my hands. I’ve got to lift them to feed, risking dropping and breaking or chipping the tank.

That’s awesome! So you’ll be doing your own lids then?
I hope so!
I need to clean up my workshop and put some things in-place and figure out some work processes but yes I want to start offering my lid designs! PalaTops™?

unfortunately the cnc I'll cut them out on is unbuilt. I suppose I could cut a few 10G lids on the small cnc (345mmx457mm) for my QT tanks as examples and as proofs of concept and to work out my designs. I may need to get a beefy laser to actually get the quality people want; I don't know how one would do the netting channel with a laser. with a router bit, no problem...

Awesome! Yeah it’s pretty much right in the flow of both powerheads l, so it’s in a decently high flow spot.
