This would be a perfect spot for an aquarium:

This is at the kiddos house. I’ve entered a contest for the Eden, another Waterbox lol. This one is a fresh water centered tank with a decent lid already in place.

My thought process is, since the grands snoozing currently and I’m left alone with my brain and nothing else to hyper focus on.. is that if I ever get the Eden I’ll replace my mini 10. The mini 10 has a shorter stand and is quite sturdy. I believe all of waterboxes stands are around three feet tall and while that’s nice it’s not ideal for a two year old to view. I can add cabinet braces to the back of the ten gallon stand in case he touches it.

He wants a little reef. I know I’m struggling so hard on mine but maybe a little one with a clownfish and a shrimp and some hermits would be a great little starting place for him. What y’all think? I’d want to probably go with macro algaes mostly and maybe corals as he gets older.

Also… I found in marketplace someone local selling an RO Buddie and tank for 40 bucks lol. Tank isn’t great but that RO Buddie is nice. It’s what I use :p

Even if I can’t get the tan for him down here I’d like to plan something. I get absolutely bored out of my skull during the mornings and nap time and find myself wanting to just sit and watch some fish swim. That’s my comfort place lol. Plus he enjoys videos so I know he would love one of his own. I’d just move the tan here now if I didn’t have the albis and Toph in there. Early morning thoughts and ramblings lol. (I do this a lot)
I loved the RO Buddie I just recently upgraded to the BRS RO/DI unit but the Buddy got me through hard times

I enjoy mine. I don’t have a way to hook it up online anywhere due to how my house layout is so it’s on the garden hose lol.

More early morning thoughts.

Who here has a kraken reef lid? Not for the salty tank but my 35.2 needs a proper top. I can get one for 165, and my local reef shop is a sponsor or seller or whatever.. anyhow they can get a 10% discount bringing it to just under 150…. I’m thinking of working towards that before the light replacement as the two glass panes are so hard to manage with my hands how they are.

If not them, who do you guys recommend?
IMG_4108.jpeg

You can kind of make out the double sided tape I have as my handles lol. The glass is from some busted Fluval ebi (RIP) tanks years ago, before the redesign. The glass is heavy but it’s unsightly. I just want my guys to be safe and the tank to be nice lol.

Also, on the subject of the tan gallon from yesterdays conversation, this is the setup. Currently a bad case of cyano. I’d have to have a spot for all of these tiny guys to move to before I could bring this to Russ. Uh, wall art not included. That’s mine lol. And yes I promise there’s fish. There’s like, 20 on there.

My pico was kraken. Before they made bigger lids. Very easy to work with back then & probably who I'll be reaching out to for the bigger tank if they're willing to go that large. I also have access to a 10% off code with them if anyone needs it.

Last week I had been busy with painting and with some tank maintenance. Mainly, I took the mounting arm off the Serene for the 35 and placed it on the 10. Then I took an old adjustable screen, took a side off it, cut a bit of the mesh and used it over said ten gallon. I still have to find a solution for the 35. As much as I’d love
To say I’m hopeful the 90 on the finished artwork would go to a proper lid, it’s simply not the truth. W are quite a bit behind in some things and that 90 will put some food on the table for us for a few days as well as some good for the fishes.

Anywho, I also pulled the pallifina female and placed her outside with the male. He had gotten some decent size out there and maybe I can get a spawn going between the two. That does leave poor Atlas all alone. He’s sulking but it’s as expected. I’m am lucky in the fact the guy getting the artwork also keeps macs, and if by the time the painting is dry enough, that Atlas shows he’s just not in a good mood I’ll send him home with him for some time. I trust I’ll eventually get him or some offspring back eventually. Gotta think of my boys happiness.

So yeah, pics! Er… I can’t get any of the pallifina. Though later I’ll grab a pic of the tank, to show why I can’t get pics of them lol.

Very close to completion. Need to finish the dorsal, add some shading to the caudal and the lower area of scaling, and add a bit more pectoral on the other side. I’m debating on the other ventral. When I drew the fish out it just didn’t feel right but it doesn’t feel right not being there. I dunno. I’ve enough black to paint over if needed lol.

Sad baby boy Atlas.

This is the tank that may go to the grandsons home.

Today I need to let my Fission go. I’m finding this very difficult. He’s having severe swimming issues from the tumor.

I pulled him into a cup. I had the vodka ready to go onto his gills to release his suffering. He looked at me and it broke me.

He’s now back in his tank. On the sub. On his side. I’m in tears. I know it needs to be done. He did eat this morning.
IMG_4255.jpeg

Yesterday he stayed like this for most of the day in this spot.
IMG_4263.jpeg

Here he is in the cup. I know it’s better for him. Life like this is not fair. He has such an issue getting air. Sigh. You can see the tumor pretty well here.

We do the hard things when they're the right things because it would be wrong not to.

Strength in Honor.

I'm sorry for your loss, but I commend you for all the joy and life and happiness that came before it.

I couldn’t do it last night. But this morning, I let my boy go. After I drowned myself in my painting and finally have finished it. I may do some touch ups but he’s done. My hands are drawing up and I’m still bursting in tears, but two necessary things were finished today.

His tank sits in the bedroom, on my night stand. It’s so empty. Rest well, Fission. You were a fantastic little fish.
