So I’ve gotten my test kits and have used them a few times. Phosphate stays about 0.03. The nitrate was between the ten and 25, but after a waterchange is ten. My salinity I can’t recall. My alk. Is 8.2. I’m having issues with that. The salifert test requires drop by drop of the regant, but it has to be swirled between drops. This is extremely difficult with my fibromyalgia. It’s a test I’ll probably use only if it’s necessary and a replacement will have to come, because I don’t think I can get it to be accurate with how my hands are.

The corals are all doing well and the algae seems to be going away still. I wish I could have some better shots. The colors are quite gorgeous. Also, it’s neat to see that the little black neon dottyback lives in the rock the frammer is on

Just a super quick update, if anyone’s still watching lol.

So my algae issues are pretty much gone. I haven’t done anything new so I guess it just took a bit to mature. The palythoas are growing ok, the frammer is growing ok, and the RFAs seem to be doing well. The ultra rock flower got a little mad at the little one creeping it’s style so it moved. I can’t really see it cause it’s in a deep hole in the top of the rock lol. It’s happy so that’s ok with me. I’m losing the green Goni. I knew it was a gamble when I bought it, and even though my parameters are in check, and I supplement with the Red Sea AB+ it’s just not happy.

I lost the neon dottyback. It was found on the floor one morning. I believe the other chased it out. Otherwise everyone’s doing well and thriving.

I’m upgrading my light to one of the R24s soon, so that all the corals will be a little happier.

Our finances has taken a nose dive, and it’s put me in a bit of a depression. I don’t like being down, so I try to avoid places and expressing that, but that’s why I’ve been absent. Constant pain, and no ability to get things I need for the dogs and fish. It took me over a year to complete a painting and it broke my heart.maybe one day I can actually increase my coral collection to at least warrant being called a reef

anyhow, that’s the details and boring stuff! Here’s a few photos from today, during and after waterchange. Keep in mind my phone doesn’t get along with actinics and I can’t find any orange shades for cheap and no fancy filters.

Also, as an aside, my female clown has decided she loves the frammer and has been rubbing against it making it mad. So the smallest head has died back some and has shown some skeleton. I’m adding the AB+ daily now so it seems to enjoy that. I’ve still got teef Roids but haven’t fed that in awhile.

tank looks really good actually and sometimes adding nothing does wonders for a system as it is maturing each month. Your non-purchasing period may be a blessing as prices are bound to dwindle down as they are starting to already and will be more affordable when youre ready

True. I was thinking, even though I’m in the middle of now where reaching out to see if anyone local could trade me like, a polyp of some zoa for my Goni. I feel bad that it’s not doing well, showing skeleton. But I don’t know if it’s actually worth a trade off.

Afternoon all. Just updating my build thread today.

The palythoas are looking strange and I’m not sure what’s up. I’ll attach a photo. Hoping for some insight on them

The frammer seems to be recovering from the clowns antics.

My poor Goni. I’m in the process of getting a better light going for the tank, so o hope that will help it out. Otherwise I’m sure someone local can take it, and hopefully save it. I’m not sure how much time it has but direct feedings, while showing some interest, it just isn’t to my liking.

I do have some nice coralline growing, finally! I’m not surprised it took so long, as you all know I didn’t add anything really seed it, and all my rock was dried.

I’d like to try some of the branching GSP, I think it would look pretty nice in there. And once I get the new light I know I can sustain a BYA finally. For now, though this is what we have. Finances are nada at the moment and my next purchase for the tank will be another bottle of the AB+.

I am wanting to work on some really nice fluorescent paintings to trade for corals/ or sell for some. But I’m not sure what to paint. Maybe a clown in a rainbow BTA. Or a pretty wrasse swimming about near some acros. I have no experience with any of those lol. Will see how that goes and update that.

This was one of my last pieces, and somethjng I’m currently working on. The last is glow in the dark :) I don’t have a recent of the painting other than that but, it’s a blue spotted sunfish sitting in a Triceratops skull, with anubias mama petit “Starburst”. You’ll just have to imagine until I can finish it lol.
