I’m doing a three day blackout, just to combat some of the algae. I’ll follow up with a good large waterchange and gradual light ramping up on Friday.

For now, I’m enjoying my freshwater tank. lol need to move it into the studio but it’s cold in there and I’ve been in a great deal of pain from flare ups.

Made it to the reef store finally! I picked up a shrimp goby, dunno what he is. A sand sifting conch, a few more snails and idk what the other thing is. Pics when I acclimate them. I know I was doing a black out but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go out here.

what is it?

These adorable little thieves needed a house plant for their diggs I guess. The new coral is in their cave, and it’s a base rock so getting it out is impossible. It’s a good thing they are cute.

This morning I was given a peace offering from my little thieves. I woke up before lights on and sat in the ambiance of silence this morning. Slowly the lights on both tanks started to slowly come on. Beautiful run rise glow on my fresh setup, and a peaceful blue on the reef. As it came up I went to look in on the euphilia since it had been showing some semi improvements. lol and behold, at the entrance of the very large cave of wonders, there say my sad little frag. I fished it up with some tweezers and placed it up higher on some rock. I’m pleased that it’s starting to open! I hope to eventually get some great growth out of something!

On my little serene, a friend from FL sent me a few clippings of culvert plants. It seems to be a species of ludwigia( possibly repens) and moneywort. Will see how the pretty little things mature. Still wanting some other plants and will be working locally with some trades of my java fern

I need to look it up, but dads birthday is in September. He was a HUGE Georgia dawg fan. Maybe by then I’ll be balanced enough, I’m sure they have a bulldog zoa lol. I think it would be a great two years in heaven gift for him.

I have macros! I added the third light, so I think everything will be happier now. I have absolutely no clue what some of this new algae is but it’s really neat! Also ten more nerites. I should be full up with CUC. That’s 11 nerites and five of the tubular ines(forget what they are called) a sand sifting conch, one red leg and four, maybe five blue leg hermits.

Hey guys! Sorry, I had been sick. Seems a cold or something caught me. I did good, wasn’t sick in my birthday, waited a couple days after this year, yay lol.

so a much needed update and waterchange today. Upped some of the white on the lights too. Everyone seems mad, except the fish. Algaes are doing ok. Corals, eh. I’m not good with them I guess. I am now out of salt lol. As I was cleaning I noticed the blenny poking his head from a hole in the rock. It seems they burrowed through and it’s adorable! So, pics! A couple shots of the tank as well. I do believe I have good enough lighting for a nem since I added the third light fixture. Once I get the diatoms in check and the tank matures and balances better I’ll be looking for one. Plus... funds.

Looks beautiful! Hope you are all better!
Thanks! I’m feeling a bit better but now hubbs is quite sick.

I got a video of the conch eating off the glass earlier. They are quite strange! His name is Edsel, and if you’ve seen Heavy Metal you’d see why;Spitoutdummy
