After seeing all the gonis I think one or two are going on my list!
They're beautiful! I'd recommend starting with an Alveopora or two as they're "easier" and just as beautiful! They're also usually cheaper. Keep them alive for a while and decide on Gonis.

I can keep Gonis alive but struggle with acros. It seems like everytime I get a freebie it's a Millie or an acro. Everyone else gets Gonis.

No acros for me. Never got bitten by the “stick” bug, thank goodness. And my nutrients are wayyyy to high for any SPS to last more than a month.

Everything else in my tank exploded and is happy since I stopped testing and just let it ride lol

My SPS do well with the exception of acros. Tenuis and Millepora are nice. I think I have more of an issue with flow than anything else.

You have any gonis in your tank?

After spending years and years (like 2005-2015) trying and failing to keep gonis alive I finally gave it break and took a few years away from the hobby for work/overseas. Once starting a tank again I started the painful goni game again with an ORA red goni and the whole experience was a looooot better haha.

Aquacultured gonis are great. Direct imports are still a game for the brave lol

The green one died but the pink one and the other green one are thriving!

I can agree with that! I've only got imports but they are sure finicky until they get established. I lost 2 out of 5. And it seems like they die overnight.

Lost both green ones. You can see the first one in the second pic is closed up. The next day it looked like a brown bubble.

I’m sure you don’t want me tempting you with this, but Shane over at SBB Corals keeps Tenuis at high nitrate and phosphate. I think he keeps nitrates between 16-30 and phosphates between 0.04 - 0.08.

This is one of his. Hydrogen Bomb. The only Acro I've been able to keep alive so far.
