Lots of good advice here guys! Keep them coming. Mine is.... dont top off with saltwater lol I did that for the first 6 months, thinking a saltwater tank needed more saltwater added to it hahhaha at about six months my salinity was through the roof. AND put a float valve on your ro unit
Yea my salinity hit 1.037 doing that :(

@Living Reef Orlando
Is there a chance you have a picture of a colony of LRO Candy Apple Gonies? Love to see one grown up... :)

Advice I’d give a new reefer:

Don’t chase fads, and 15 minutes of research is worth its weight in gold. . There will always be some new hot thing that is super hyped, be it gear or coral. Sometimes simple is better, and yesterdays “trash” is todays treasure.

My serious (official) New reef advice:

Learn to live with doing waterchanges. Find the quickest method and STAY ON TOP of doing it no matter what is going on. You MUST remove built up Nitrates and Phosphates. A must.

Waterchanges.... the OG of dosing

This is so true.

Always liked to think of reef tanks and humans being very similar in some respects. No matter if you are feeling okay or aren’t feeling well, it’s amazing what some sunlight, fresh air, and water can do to improve your overall health. The same is true for reefs!
