start out slow, patience is key, quarantine & acclimate everything, ONLY buy your corals from reef2reef flash sales lol

Don’t buy a small tank to start. Smaller tanks are so much harder to keep parameters under control and….you’re going to want more.

So. Just get a ’big’ tank (not a nano).

You are going to get a million different answers if you ask a question to a group. Find a couple mentors and see what works best for your tank.

Be prepared to fall in love and forget about your bank account.

Patience is very important. Also not correcting parameters too fast. Nothing good will come from making quick and drastic changes instead make them slowly over time.

Patience, stability and what most reefers say skip the small tank phase and know that this is a long time commitment that requires love for the hobby and attention/maintenance
