Good morning everyone!! Today is sale day and I hope you guys are ready to have an awesome time!!!

Lets start the day off right!

In your opinion what makes a LFS successful? Is it having a wide variety of livestock? Clean tanks? A wide variety of dry goods? Let me know what you look for when you walk into your LFS!

Winner will get a free bag of pods added to your order. Entries end at 1pm est.
Knowledgeable owner(s) with loyal following that can actually help with your tank if needed. Willingness to find solutions, and to seek hard-to-find items. I’m more than happy to support LFS,

I think a successful LFS. Is one run by hobbyist for hobbyists'. Yes tanks should be clean and hopefully pest free. But come on lets be honest, no tank is pest free. Even if we can't see them, there still there. Microscopic algae and what not. They also should be honest and upfront about stuff. I know I stop into a new one to me 2 weeks ago and was talking with the owner. He was real excited to show me how he takes care of his systems and his quarantine processes. Heck he even told me right away that he has aptisias in his tank, but is working on raising berghias to take care of them. For me his honesty is why I'm gonna keep going back to his shop.

Walking into my local fish store is a dangerous thing to begin with. HOWEVER, I believe the biggest thing that makes one most successful is having knowledgeable employees.

Knowledgeable employees in each area is incredibly valuable and important. Employees knowledgeable in specifically coral, specifically fish, specifically equipment, food, etc. and then employees who are well rounded will bring happy customers.

Along with knowledge comes customer service. You have employees that bring great knowledge to the table, great customer service typically comes with it, as they want to help & teach.

On top of that, of course when you walk in, you want to see clean tanks. Tanks which are clean are going to appear appealing to the eye and attract customers. We get things happen, as it’s part of the game.
