I have a 60 gallon rimless cube and right now I'm looking to upgrade my lighting I'm currently using a black box as my light but I wanna upgrade it. I'm looking for a light that's going to grow lps and sps and I would like you guys suggestions on which light has worked for you guys the best.
Thank you

With that set of data, I'd go with an AI Hydra 64. You could get away with a 32 but would be a little more limited on where you can stick some acros.

Hi Eric! So I'm a bit biased as I have 2 Red Sea tanks, an E-260 and an E-170, (the 170 is the daughter's). The 170 came with the Red Sea Reef LED 90 and it is an awesome light! The Reef Beat app is easy to set up and adjust the lighting. I had some corals that didn't like my Hydra 26 HDs and moved them to her tank and they came back with more color. Red Sea researched and found corals use the 360-480nm spectrum and the Reef LED is maximized to use that spectrum.

Are you strictly looking at LED only options? Are you after the high end LED options for programming, crazy blue lighting, cloud and storm effects? Also, how much SPS are we talking here, a few birdnests and digis, or a good bunch of Acros?

Well I was thinking of putting a good amount of acros in there I was looking into a hydra 52hd but I dont know if it would do the job. I was looking for LEDs I really dont need any cloud or storm effect just want something that would grow the corals out

A single Hydra, XR15, Kessil 360, or RedSea 90 will light the tank "fine" and will "grow corals" but after a year and you add the Acros you will definitely be wanting more I predict for lighting. People end up buying one or 2 fixtures as recommended but 6 months or a year later the T5 hybrid is going up to make up for par, spread and shadowing. Most people dont want to buy another Hydra 52,64 or XR30 when they can just add the T5 hybrid for better results and for way cheaper.

The Orphek Atlantic Compact is a great looking fixture and addresses the spread and shadowing issue I think. Another one on my list would the Reefi Duo Extreme, those look awesome. Ecotech is in my bad books right now, lol, with the failures of their gen5 lights. Although the gen4 pros are great and if you can find a couple of them used would be awesome.
