Hello all!
I recently ordererd a reef factory reef flare pro L light and am looking for suggestions as to how you set it up and your lighting schedule and levels. I am currently on deployment and ordered this light to replace faulty radions at home. Since I cannot be there to set it up myself, I need my sibling to set it up so I'm looking for some suggestions and tips on how to make this go well for me. Thank you!

It can be confusing to connect the lights to the app initially. When you first set up the lights it will want you to connect the lights WIFI to your homes WIFI. It makes it easier to connect to the lights WIFI and then disconnecting from it before pairing it to your homes WIFI. This way you wont have to enter the password through the app, so it will make things easier. Whatever you do, do not lose the serial code to the light. You will need it when setting it up, and if you are to set it up again.

Thank you so much for the reply. This will help in trying to get my sibling (no connection to reefing or fish tanks whatsoever) to set things up. Any advise on a good lighting schedule and color percentages?

optimally, 12 hours a day of light would be perfect. The start and end time of your lights is purely up to your preferences. I start my lights at 9:00AM and they turn off at 9:00PM. I do this because I am not getting home until around 6-7PM. For color percentages it depends on your personal preference between how much blue you want compared to how much white you want. More blue intensity would be more beneficial for most of your corals, but white would be more beneficial for something like clams, if you have any. I keep my UV up and I keep my green and red around 30-60%. I would recommend using the lights acclimation mode on your aquarium since you are changing lights. Start your lights at around 25-40% intensity and then over the course of 14 days to a month ramp it up to the desired intensity. Your intensity will depend on your tanks dimensions and what type of corals you wish to keep.

Perfect. Thanks for the advice. This would have been a lot easier had I had this issue while I was still in the states! I don't have any clams yet. Mostly lps and a few montis and a tort (if it's still in there/alive) o be honest I have not much clue what the tank looks like at the moment but I hope things are okay enough that I'm not starting all the way over when I get home in 7 months! I can't remember, did these lights have an acclimation mode? It's a 40 gallon breeder

Yes they do. Hopefully your tank looks healthy and thriving when you return in 7 months. Thank you for your service!
