LOL, We shall see. Good game from Crosby yesterday. Kinda funny he gets a hat trick and so does Ovechkin. The difference is Ovechkin's team is up 2-0. Crosby will melt down before the series is over. Ovechkin is in his head. You can tell by his facial expressions and body language. He knows whatever he does Ovechkin will do it better. I was hoping to see a rematch of the Wings Pens in the finals. Not sure thats in the cards. By the way...Datsyuk had 23 points in the playoffs last year and he has hoisted the cup twice. Comparing Datsyuk to Crosby is like comparing Joe Montanna to Dan Marino. Nice stats Dan....How many rings do you have?

Oh and where was Malkin?

Playoffs:

Ovechkin: 9 GP 11/pts
Crosby: 8 GP 12/pts
Malkin: 8 GP 11/pts
Datsyuk: 6 GP 3/pts

Even if you take it out to 9 games for Datsyuk for the playoffs, he is still at maybe 9 pts. I thought the great players should step up their game for the playoffs and not let the rest of the team carry them. I mean if he is a great as you say.

I was going to ask how you can be so certain and know that it is going to happen, but I forgot who I was talking to..... Impressive, now you can tell what hockey players are thinking by their facial expressions.....

Call me crazy but Sid looks pretty dang comfortable and not rattled at all out there. That hat trick is a dead give away that Ovechkin is getting to him.....

If we could get Malkin or anyone else to start producing a little, we would be ok. I am more ticked at Fleury than I am Malkin at this point for some of the goals he has given up in this series.

The only difference between Montana and Marino besides the Ring is Rice. Just ask Steve Young. Plain and simple the team they played on, IMO. That is an age old debate and you can find opinions on both sides of the argument.

As a fan I will take the Championships any day. Marino got to the show he just couldn't close it. Just like Crosby. I made my prediction about his meltdown because I watched him do it in the finals against the Wings. Every game his frustration became more apparent. Stupid penalties, lost battles in the corners, and trying to do to much on his own. That being said if the Pens can come out of the next two 2-2 they may have a chance. If they play poorly in the first period of game 3 you will see the symptoms of the meltdown beginning to be more obvious. Even Superman has his nemesis. For Crosby  it is Ovechkin.

pretty sure Malkin kicked some butt tonight other than the gift we gave ovechkin no goals
Fleury has had some rough games but his 4-0 over time record still holds

Ok, I am done bustin chops.:wink:Your boys put up a pretty good performance in game 3. Malkin showed up and if he continues to do so they may tie up the series. They also got some secondary scoring which is critical. Fleury looked a bit frazzled but he escaped with a W. I am sure he will be better in the next game. Good luck guys!

That score line is deceptive. My Caps were WHOOPED hard by Geno. W/o Varlie it would have been 5 or 6 - 1. An OT loss for the Pens would have been a crime (remember, I'm a die hard Caps fan).

Praying for a split in the Igloo.

Go Caps!

Varlamov has been amazing. I hope like schminksbro said that Fleury comes back next game. He almost cost us that one. Of all the players to lose the puck to it had to be OV right there in front of the net. I was just happy to see Geno turn it up a notch.

Federov took a pretty good pop to the ribs but Caps fans will be happy to know he played his way to a Stanley Cup with 3 broken ribs in 1998. He put up big #s as well.

geno really did turn it on in game 3 nice to see that hes geting back in the flow of things. fleury needs to settle down in net and take better angels out of the net to stop pucks. hes to deep on some shoots exspecily when Ovechkin comes down that left hand bord side with his swopeing wrist shots.i dont think fleury can see them very well and this is were getin out to take away alot of the net helps becouse its ether hiting you or hiting the bords behind you. the caps golie does this very well that along with takeing away the low part of the goal makeing you beat him high witch gives him a very good chance of stoping all pucks you shoot at him. and we can all agree on that. to be completly truthfull ovechkin is the only player on the caps that scares me. everyone else we can out hit out shoot and out play. but ovechikin takes it apon him self to shoot 24 times a game and with his shot some are bond to go in. all in all i cant wait for tommorw night im haveing a big party at my freinds house to watch the pens out hit and out shoot and all around out play the caps agin.

I am not saying he has a busted rib. He just caught what looked like the butt of a stick in the ribs. Federov is 38-39 years old but he has more playoff points than any other Russian player in history. At half his peak ability he is still a very good player. Wings fans tend to boo him when he comes to town because he left here. I figure he was instrumental in bringing 3 Stanley Cups so he is ok in my book.

I agree. Federov was a great player back in the day and I would take him at 75% over many other players half his age. I kept laughing at the announcers when they were like, "I'm no medical professional, but I think he hurt his wrist". I was thinking that apparently your not and you maybe blind also when he clearly got hit in the ribs by the butt of the stick. It didn't look like he was hit that hard and probably only has a bruised rub, but hell people have broken ankles by stepping off a curb.

Yeah, there is no rhyme or reason to how they are calling the game. They should just let them go home and let the Pens and Caps play without them.

Time to bring it back home and win the series on home ice!
