Well, mierda. Off to the ER. Irregular heartbeat. Urgent care doc sending me off with the comforting words "I'm sending you to the ER. I've got a gut feeling about this. These things can turn bad very fast. I wish I had better news."

Should have eaten two bowls of Lucky Charms this morning.
"Oh, no, this looks serious, head over to the ER" - Good.

"Oh, you'll be fine, just sit tight until the ambulance gets here" - Bad.

Sincerely,
ICU Nurse

Weekly goals

Between calls to insurance company and vacation Thurs-Sun:
1. Test alkalinity. Come on JoJo, it's the easiest test! FAIL
2. Order new Berghia. The Aips are out of control again. Ordering now!
3. Prep for 4 days away from the tank... DONE!
4. Change carbon in all tanks, add carbon to observation tank to remove Kanaplex DONE!
5. Prep mysis for observation tank while away DONE!
6. Clean the glass and take glamorous photos DONE! Pics incoming!
Continuing in my horrible streak of not managing to get a single test done. The back of my brain has a little voice squeaking "something bad is going to happen!"

I feel ya. I got all the fancy Hanna checkers for Christmas from my kids and I am yet to run a mag or calcium test with them. Have used the Alk, No4, and Phos a few times. But, not near as often as I should. Maybe today is the day!

Bro, your tank looks fantastic! I posted in my thread about it, but I ran some par tests on my A360x and they were rather disappointing. Seeing the results you are getting with the minis, do you think I would see better results with a k7 Pro over my 60 cube?

There is a trade-off with the Noops. You get the bargain price for a high quality spectrum and intensity at the cost of an App that isn't stellar and a company that has some significant customer service issues. I see them as a well-meaning company that doesn't quite understand the relationship between business and customer on this side of the pond.

All that said, the lights have a nice glass lens (like Kessils) that is miles ahead of AI lenses. The light is intense and produces quite a lot of PAR for its size. And it **seems** to me that the corals respond to the spectrum -- it's light that they "like". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe I'm anthropomorphizing coral and anemones too much. But they seem to grow well under the minis and I'd imagine they would do the same under Pros.

Came in yesterday to feed the fish and top off water in the observation tank. Changed out the AFR in the main tank and added a manual dose on the Reef Factory doser. Mid way through the dose, it stopped and erased all settings on the AFR dosing head. I don't remember what daily volume I was adding. Was it 60ml? 70ml? Oh wait, I also doubled the concentration on the AFR, so was it 30ml? Wait, no, that's not right...

Lesson learned: keep records of you dosing schedules.

I'm thinking a small whiteboard on the inside of the cabinet will help.

You think I'd be better off switching to the k7 pro? Was also looking at a used Gen 5 XR15 on here for $300... which would you do?
Honestly, I would go with a new light for half the price rather than a used one. I run 5 K7 pros on my system and absolutely love them, as do my coral (SPS). As mentioned, the app is a bit of a pain to get used to, but once you play with it a bit, it is actually quite intuitive.

i cant think

I love the Radions, this is my DIY botch job of a hanging light rack. 2 Gen 6 XR15s over the wrasse tank, I will also add a couple bar lights over this tank as I love the look of them and they add some gorgeous colours from the coral without impacting fish colours.

Also probably the first time I’ve shown the tank now I’m in the Prazi dosing period.

Can't go wrong with either. A new K7 pro will give you at least a year of warranty, though. They do a good job, too.

Long story...

I came in last night at 10pm because I purchased Dinkins berghia, which came in the overnight. Everything looked OK during the day. Some of the Berghia were moving. Total of 5.

By 10pm, though, I introduced them to the tank and they were all unfortunately D-E-D dead. I stayed there with the tank flow off for about 30 minutes, fending off the bristleworms, in case they "woke up", but nada.

So that was a sad, wasted trip to the office at night :crying-face: In the end, I stopped guarding them and the bristleworms had an exquisite meal. I'm not bothering Dinkins about it, because at least some were alive when they arrived, and it's entirely possible that I messed up somehow. Plus, it was a gift card I won, so I'm not making them pay shipping again. They're too darn nice.

On the plus, side, I love checking in on all the creepy crawlies. How about that zoa garden, eh!?
