Happy Monday everybody!

Round 2 of shipping bag testing. Results: Fail

Tested different temps and times for sealing, and every time there are always at least a few holes. This thin cellophane bag (advertised as able to seal and hold water!) is trash. Probably good for making cookie bags, and that's it.

Now I'm on the hunt for new bags to test. Recommendations welcome!

What's the mil on those bags, 2-4? Maybe 6 mil?

Otherwise if we do not need to rely on any oxygen transfer for the low mils, vaccum seal bags? (Sans vaccum). Just spit ballin'..

For shipping coral, do we need oxygen transfer? If there is some air in the bags and the bags are fully sealed, is that going to be enough? How much air is usually transferring in an out of a bag that's been double-bagged, twisted at the end and stapled or rubber banded?

Was also looking at the vacuum seal bags as an option.

That was my thought as well, probably don't need to worry about any O2 transfer for corals and can just go with the thick stuff..? #NotAnExpertHere

Vaccum seal bags stand up to a pretty good beating in my experience.

That’s one I’m not fond of… I do have two frogs that are green…

I want to collect all the colors though so @JoJosReef I’ll make my own rainbow darn it!!! Lol
I could have a tank full of all the varieties of hammers, torches, octo, frogspawn, etc and be a very happy man!

So you know the bags you get from the local LFS or even ones they ship corals in…those seal up real nice

I usually try and leave a little air in the bag
