Buddy, you ain’t lying. It finally got down into the low 90s. It really feels like it’s fall time just based off of comparison to what it’s been.Harbor
Yeah.... with all that heat down there you probably need a chiller.
That's winter temps for @tbrownBuddy, you ain’t lying. It finally got down into the low 90s. It really feels like it’s fall time just based off of comparison to what it’s been.
Correct!Seahorse
Oh we hit Phoenix weather this summer. I spent a few weeks over there working in august a handful of years ago. That’s what it was here. That's winter temps for @tbrown
Nope, they are interesting but I like a more active tank.Correct!
I always wanted a seahorse tank. Any of y’all successfully kept them before?
My LFS owner sells a type that he says are captive bred (I think) and can eat frozen plus handle stronger flow. Too much for any of my tanks, but maybe I could set up a species tank just for them. I have a brand new IM 20 gallon AIO that I posted locally for sale for $200 with the nice stand but no biters yet. Maybe I’ll just make it into a seahorse tank.Nope, they are interesting but I like a more active tank.
Correct!euphyllia
LOL holy and Bright AFCorrect!
That’s the genius for all the lovely flowing LPS we love!
Bonus points: can you name the two most common species of “torch corals” without googling it?
Give it a whirl, you might find it to a nice peaceful setup. Pipefish and macro algae too? Maybe a few soft corals. My LFS owner sells a type that he says are captive bred (I think) and can eat frozen plus handle stronger flow. Yeah I’m actually googling it now as far as which ones I would get. Maybe I could set it up in the study so I can watch the little fellow while I was playing games during live sales.Give it a whirl, you might find it to a nice peaceful setup. Pipefish and macro algae too? Maybe a few soft corals.
If I had an AIO ready to go I might try it for the kids. They definitely like seahorses.
Sounds like opportunity is knockingYeah I’m actually googling it now as far as which ones I would get. Maybe I could set it up in the study so I can watch the little fellow while I was playing games during live sales.
I would definitely do ornamental macroalgae. I was just talking with someone on my local forum the other day about blue hypnea and how beautiful it is. I’ve always wanted a seahorse and now might be the time…hhhmmm….
Fair answer but glabrescens and cristataLOL holy and Bright AF
Oops forgot Ultra
Looking into them now and man do they need a cool tank. They're recommending 70-74. I keep the house at 73-75. Hhhmmmm. I wonder if the captive bred ones are hardier?Sounds like opportunity is knocking
