UV will only sterilize free floating. It can't and won't kill the Eggs that have been deposited in the substrate already.
Hypo would be my recommendations, as it won't harm the fish, and doesn't use meds. But, if you have Corals go another route. That fishy needs fattened up some. I'd feed that poor boy twice a day until he gets some meat on his bones.

Alright just an update guys. I did purchase a quarentine tank, heater, filter etc and got the fish in there on my second try. First try he got away and hid in a rock. Second try seemed as if he knew I was trying to help him and slowly swam into the net. Actually it was kinda weird. But I doubt that to be the case and I know it was stressful for him. He did have a couple more white spots this morning and breathing was heavier but I fed him mysis mixed with garlic and he is still eating. He also has a seaweed clip. I guess we'll see what happens. I'm a little nervous about doin a hypo treatment as I've never done one before and it's gonna be tough to get this right. It doesn't seem easy at all

My cardinal is in my QT, day 6 and is doing great. SG is at 1.010. It was my first time with both a QT and doing hypo. I couldn't be happier with the results so far. Hasn't been hard so far at all. Getting the SG took a little while but other than that not too bad. The hardest part IMO is going to be holding out the 8 week period before I put him back into my display.

What's your method of bringing down the salinity so gradually. I'm at 1.024 which is what my display tank was at.

What size is your QT? Mine is 10 gal. I did 1 gal every morning and afternoon. Thake out 1 gal salt water and replace with fresh RO water like the previous post.
