FWIW : I'd use more than 5 gals going forward.. very easy to foul 5 gals ..
Yeah, I know it’s not ideal. The nem is in quarantine until Friday, and will be moving to the display on Saturday.

I am scheduled to do a water change tonight, and I may bump the amount back up to 10 gallons if I have to time to make that much.

my thought behind it was getting away with using less meds since cipro is becoming more difficult to get and also being able to use less salt.

Tomorrow is the big day! The Mag has made it through quarantine, and is going to be transferred to my display. Huge thanks to @OrionN, and @D-Nak, and anyone else I may have forgot, your input and advice has been greatly appreciated!

I will post pictures of the nem after the transfer.

Quick question, should I drip acclimate the nem from qt to display? or just make sure Temp, S.G, and pH match and transfer?

Happy to help!

In terms of drip acclimation--it's up to you. I typically don't. Assuming the anemone is healthy, magnifica are very hardy. I've seen photos of them getting baked in the sunlight at low tide.

Well, after what felt like one of the most exhausting weeks of my life (got into a fender bender on Monday so have been dealing with that all week…) the Mag has made it to its new home!

And it looks….well….. MAGNIFICENT!

My clown seem super excited/ interested too!

Here are some pics, keep in mind it’s only been maybe 30 minutes since the transfer:

I think it looks good, decent random flow. The rock looks great too. Did you design it specifically for the anemone? That’s probably what I would end getting as well with the flat structure.

I had originally envisioned a mixed reef, however really liked the layered look so that's what I wanted, It just so happened to lend itself perfectly for a mag.

Display tank update day 2:

The mag is doing just fine! Foot is no longer puffy so I take it likes where it is.

My clowns have not taken to it yet which is kinda odd, I thought clowns usually go right in if it’s a natural host? Has anyone had this happen with perculas ( Picassos specifically in my case) ?

That's very odd. They usually take to it right away. Have they still not gone into it yet?

looks like I spoke too soon, the female took up residence last night right before lights went out, however the male, at least to my knowledge, hasn’t moved in just yet.
Take a net, or your hand and put it into the tank. Wave it around several time. My clowns will go into the natural host anemone every time when I do this.
I may try that when I get home to get the male to go in.

Nem has been doing fine up until today, I came home and noticed that it’s not as full as it normally is, but it’s not deflated, which is good. The only changes with the tank was that I added a diffuser to the light a couple days ago (which has since been removed) I’m hoping it’s just getting rid of some waste. Any ideas?

I see this happen from time to time with mags -- they partially deflate, but only one section at a time and in a particular pattern (mine have done it in a clockwise pattern where sections deflate from 12-2 then 2-4 then 4-6, etc.). I don't have an explanation other than maybe it's adjusting its zoox population, but as long as it doesn't completely deflate, you should be fine.
