FTS of my 24 gal Oceanic, no sump and no overflow. I have a HOB filter mainly where I put the heater in and keep the tank well aerated with a ventury protein skimmer that does not skim. FTS and picture of my Yellow Magnifica Anemone. The Female clown was about 1.75-2 inches. Light was a DE 250 W MH right above the anemone. He was very happy there with a lot of current and light, never wander from that spot. The anemone was about 6 inches fully expanded. They look close on the 2D picture but the anemone cannot physically reach the PH's, becasue the PH's are at the three corners of the tank, unless he let go of his attachment to the pedestal. Just two clowns a few frags and a few small clams.

Two PH tream meet just above the anemone and one PHincrease circulation lower down the tank. As you can tell, even from the still picture, there is a lot of random current swirling around the anemone.

Thank you for sharing, OrionN!

After further thought and seeing your setup, I think I may give it a shot. If it ends up getting too big I have a RedSea Reefer 350 that it can go in, and if that plan doesn't end up working out, the reefing scene in my area is decently sized so I'm sure I would be able to find it another home.

Im still about a month or 2 out from ordering one, so I'm going to be taking that time to make sure I have all of my bases covered, potential problem wise.

I will update this thread when I do end up getting one!

Update: I ordered a mag from ReefBeauties! It should be here tomorrow. I sent there CS an email regarding their mags and they sent me an updated photo at my request and they ones they had looked pretty good IMO. Said they are about 5-6” which is a perfect size in this case! I will update tomorrow after I get it l.

I have a haddoni in a 10g (isolated since I believe it’s infected somehow but hasn’t been reactive to cipro). Been in the 10g for about four months now. Seems to be doing well but I do religious 25% water changes weekly. You can probably get away with it if you keep it a species tank.

If you don't have any anemone in the tank, I would add him in if he looks well for a few days. I keep him in isolation longer but that is because I have multiple anemones, and my QT is set up such that I can keep him there indefinitely. Just slightly more work on my part.

Ok cool, I’ll probably give it until Saturday or Sunday.

I would be interested to see your qt setup, do you have any pictures?

Well…. Just checked in on the nem while at work and was greeted with this:
IMG_3521.jpeg

Should I start Treatment? I did give it a bit of mysis last night just to test its feeding response, and it did eat. Could it be that the nem is just expelling waste? Will get a better picture when I get home.

During my prior check ins it looked fine.

Here is a better picture:

The water is looking a bit cloudy, I’m going to do a water change, and possibly transfer the whole set up into a 5 gallon bucket for ease of future cleaning.

The brown discharge could be waste, but most likely dead zoox. If it deflates again, I would begin treatment. In my experience, waiting too long could have dire consequences if the pathogen takes hold, but starting treatment has never made things worse. In other words, there's little risk putting an otherwise healthy mag through the treatment cycle, aside from bleaching, which it can easily recover from.

Also, I would not feed it at all. Since it looks like it's got a healthy population of zoox, it doesn't need any nutrition from food. Let it focus on acclimating, rather than expending energy on eating and having to process food that it doesn't really need.

I went ahead and started treatment tonight, nem did not want to really inflate much more once I got home, so I did like a 95% water change and I just got done dosing the Cipro , and man does it take a while for it to dissolve, my hand was starting to cramp, and the pill kept getting stuck between the folds of my glove. Anyways, I will update tomorrow.

I gotcha, I will hold off on feeding until it gets better.

Quick Update:

Nem seems to have responded well to the first round of Cipro, through out this morning the mouth was tightly closed, however when I came home at around 4:00pm it was slightly opened almost like it was trying to eat something but it looked much better today, so I am glad I started treatment early enough.

This morning( excuse the crappy photo, I’m using my Amazon Alexa so cam quality isn’t the best):
