Mr Bubbles:D, I have been watching your procedure of bubbling and this is not good for your clam`s health. The bubbles can get caught under his mantles and cause him to be stressed and possibly after bubbling for a while he may go to the afterlife:(

I've been microbubbling for several months now and haven't noticed any issues with the clam I added since the swap.

Any thoughts on this @Cruz_Arias?

How? We have clams here... and they are absolutely fine. When they close rapidly, they expel any bubbles in their mantle. There was a video with clams at low tide and they are out of the water. They aren't dead.

I'm considering getting this soon

Sorry to be blunt (again), but get yourself a skimmer first before you even consider trying microbubbling! With no means of exporting all the excess slime and nutrients that the microbubbling is designed to take out of the DT, you will be wasting your money on the system IMHO.

Thank you, sir!! Love your observations and explanation of how easy it is to adjust bubble size and coarseness simply based on distance the wooden air diffuser is to the intake of the return pump. Very nice, and I'm very glad you're seeing the positives as well! :)

Back on topic with today's observations:

The tank room (and even more so the sump room) both have a stronger, more pronounced and distinct "ocean-like" smell than they did before. To the point that even my wife noticed it today.

And I may be imagining this, but I could swear my water clarity is better.

I've got the air pump on the apex now set to run from 11pm to 5am.

This is Julian's pride and joy... a deep water acro that we acclimated up to stronger par... under which it developed these very feminine and delicate pallete of colors, translucent pink apical polyps on a yellow gold coralite base for the tips and a deeper rich pink axial polyps that reminded him of the lips of a beautiful lady.

Demurely a one of a kind coral... and proud to have it in the Elegant Corals Collection in Julian's Reef. :)

The "smell" will lessen in its pronounced odor in about a week to two.
Apologies to the Mrs. from me please.

I've never seen anything like this. Wow. I was always under the impression it was a bad or unhealthy thing. Keep letting us know the progression

One thing I can attest to, is a direct correlation between PE on some of my corals and bubbling. The mucus expelled from some appears to be consumed by others, but most is skimmed off the surface. Although I'm not tracking pH, I'm am sold at this point that it's a benefit to my corals. So simple.
