I do it 6 time a day for 2 mins... programmed on my apex... I used wooden diffuser for finer bubbles under my MP10

I've also done this for around 4 months now.

At first it's got great potential to make a huge mess with the spray from the bubbles, but this goes away after the first few days.

First couple times everything slimed up and closed up but they no longer do that either.

As far as benefits,(remember I'm not Bill Nye) and this is my opinion.

-increase in skimmer production, your tank becomes a big skimmer at this point.

- I did have some fleshy LPs that weren't doing so well and they slimed up like crazy, and responded well. Ie open more completely and look alot better.

I didn't see any negatives, no adverse effects to any of my corals/critters, but cannot attest to effects on sps as I've only got one and only had it days at this point. But it's not shown any signs of stress.

I'd also like to add that my corals don't slime up even near half as much as they did at first nor do they close up during "treatment"

I think there tank is used to it at this point.

I like the idea of increased pH, redox potential and enhanced skimming. The article mentioned placing the wooden air diffuser in the sump near the main circulation intake, and I like the said benefits of that.

I think my apprehension has been the notion that bubbles are bad for fish, but that may be very antiquated.

Getting input before experimenting with it myself.

One thing that's keeping me from trying it is the need for fresh (outside) air to be used for the air stone. I certainly don't want to drill a hole through my wall to the outside.

Have you ever had a dive / snorkel trip on the reef? Bubbles are very prevalent. Actually, many of the parameters we work so hard to stabilize are also quite variable on a real reef. I highly advise anyone in this hobby to take a trip to dive / snorkel to understand what real reefs experience. Flow / temperature / "bubbles" / exposure to low tides / etc. are quite extreme on a reef.

How many hours you guys are bubbling during the night?

3hrs, the last 30 minutes of the light cycle so I can make sure everything isn't reacting weird. (I was a skeptic)

I sat a big bubble stone right in front of my return with the hose out the corner of the window. It pulls fine with the window shut right

When my 60 shallow tank was in it's prime, I had an air-stone set in the sump at the inlet of the return pump. The air pump was set to rum 15 minutes twice a day....

I know this is new for you guys but I have been doing this since the beginning of the year in close communication with Cruz.
Bubbling is not in danger to your fish as long you don't turn your tank into a jacuzzi.
The micronano's in the water aren't that visible as you think in the first place.
With a wood air stone about a few inches away from the intake of your return pump that only about 5% of the bubbles makes it through the intake in the tank.
Bubble for not more than 4 hours during the night.
Note to all that you don't see major results but over time it will, better stability of the PH, color on corals especially SPS will be richer, faster encrusting of frags, water will be clearer as light spectrum will penetrate deeper.
Just to name a few for what I experienced.

Good point. I'm not sure how I could plumb that. Might be easy enough to employ some CO2 scrubber media on the air intake. Hmm.

Been bubbling since Cruz's first post in 2015. I also was a skeptic.

Lots of positive things that I still can't explain. Maybe it's a domino effect of increasing oxygen and bubble stimulation.

I will be the first to say I don't know how to explain it, but it's going very well.

I'm friends with Cruz...one of the guys bringing this idea to the forefront and the guy who initially stumbled on it. I had initially, like everyone else experienced some skepticism but unlike many I wasn't outspoken about it. Like Paletta said, if we waited for 100% verified results to try stuff we would still be using trickle filters. This hobby is an exercise in patience, observation and experimentation. My tank is quite far from any window or door...I bought a roll of tubing and bought a powerful airpump coupled with an air injected 400gph powerhead which I fit between the battle walls in my sump. I placed the air pump on my porch and ran the airline to the powerhead. Seems to work perfectly...no ill effects whatsoever. Noticeable increase in nighttime pH and overall more stable pH. Will still need more long term observation but I trust Cruz, he's a very good guy and his stuff does well. I know in his personal tank he uses an oxygen concentrator to power his bubbles.
