The water clarity is just a bit off where I’d like it to be. It’s early, but snagged a Ozone generator on Black Friday, so going to try implementing a tiny amount of ozone to try and achieve clearer water.

Excellent job planning. You would have made a fine engineer. Props on the structured cabling as well. We have a similar egress window and the wife wants me to dig out and add stairs to. Our back yard is tiny though. Do you recall the length of the first stair to the house?

Appreciate the compliment, I really enjoy the tinkering part of the hobby and making things as tidy as possible (quite the challenge haha)

Here is the drawing for the window well. It’s actually 36”, I changed it on the fly to just buy a bit more room.

No, I placed all the old rock from the 220 in the Frag tank for right now, I’ll be slowly removing that to create space.

Hard to see it in this pic, but it’s all just piled up down there.

How did you cycle your tank then? I'm amazed that you have all those fish and corals already with brand new rock. I guess you have a little leeway with 700+ gallons. Lol

It was okay, but I already planned to add 2 more on the back wall, and with those added, the flow is great so far. If SPS takes off, I can see a need to add some sea swirls down the line to stir up the middle

Not a whole lot new.. the tank has been on cruise control really. I started an Instagram as it’s easier to upload videos: the.iReef

I don’t do water changes, and I’m trying to avoid using GFO… I was hoping the chaeto in the refugium would export Po4 but it just wasn’t keeping up. So my Po4 was getting a little higher than I’d like, reaching 1.1ppm.

I started dosing Tropic Marin Elimi-phos Rapid (basically Lanthanum Chloride) directly into the skimmer, and I’ve gotten it down to 0.58ppm over the last week. So I’m pretty happy with that.

I added a few new fish.

Queen Angel
Captive bred Kingi Angel
Captive bred Conspic Angel

I have a couple others finishing up QT:

Blonde Naso Tang
Tomini Tang (will go in the Frag tank)
Pearlscale butterfly
Auriga butterfly
Double saddle butterfly
Blue flasher wrasse
Anfulated wrasse

I added a doser to administer H202 to the QT systems… not a huge Jebao fan.. but this little doser works really well, and was $75 on Amazon.

Thanks, the Kingi and Conspic were 2 of dream fish, I actually never thought I’d ever own one of them, so I’m pretty stoked.

So far, the emperor has only mildly chased them, nothing too serious. The emperor started with me about 0.5”, but he’s become such a jerk in the juvenile stage, hoping he mellows out a bit
