Interesting to see how you like it. I am looking to possibly buy them but the thing that gives me pause is some of their previous lights had dead diodes and melted lenses after 2 years ish. I am hoping this is resolved.
I have high hopes for it. I hope no issues arise given that the fixture only has a 1 year warranty. I am not in the habit of replacing lights often so I expect this to last for a long time.

I have been running the Simplicity 120 skimmer for a week now. It has started giving me an Error Code 5, which is a stuck impeller. I have broken this thing down twice now and I can't find anything wrong with it. I guess I need to call Simplicity.

Nice choice on lights. I have a friend who runs 4 of the Atlantic over his 300. Great light with no issues. Get some pics when you get it hung.

Thanks! I really hope they live up to the hype. I will definitely share some pics once I get it above the tank. It should be here this weekend.

The Orphek Natura Icon is over the tank! It wasn't too hard to hang using the included hanging kit. Programming was fairly easy using the app. I programmed all channels set to a max 20% right now since I have no coral. I will probably think about adding some tester corals in a couple weeks or so. Some pics to show the color with all channels at the same %. I will play around with the program a little bit to see what it can do, but so far I really like the color I am getting out of the preset mode.

Nice! I got lucky and won one here so bought a second. Probably need a 3rd for my 6 foot tank but might just put some kessils/noops/reefi or T5 with mine since it’s in a hood anyways. Depends how much I like it when it arrives I guess and how many I actually need once hung.

That is lucky! Have you received it yet? I'm wondering how others have programmed it.

I recieved the one I bought today but haven’t opened it. Haven’t gotten the free one yet. I assume the free ones are lower priority to ship :)

My new 60G tank is similar to yours, with the same goal of being SPS-dominant. I may be a few months ahead. Like you, I decided to try the Orphek Natura as a first-time Orphek owner.

Initially, I thought one Natura may be enough. I'm now adding a second one based on my PAR readings. To start, one will work just fine, as it’ll be at least a year before the SPS need that extra boost.

Glad to have you on board! What is the length of your 60g? I'm hoping that I can get away with one Natura given that I will have about a 24x24'' square that actually have coral.

Also, I'm having a hard time understanding the programming of the Natura. I don't understand if the Sun/Moon sync is always operating? Also, using the preset Helius program, how can I change the intensity of the different time setting? I am clicking on the graph in the app and I can't select anything to customize further. How do you have yours programmed? I wish we could share programs with one another.

I estimate 60G, though most would say closer to 70G. However, accounting for the glass thickness, it's closer to 60G imo.

The Orphek app reminds me of the early days of the Mobius app - crude and not very intuitive (not saying it's much better ;)). Everything is controlled by sliders, which makes getting precise numbers tricky. Hopefully, the app will improve over time.

I'm new to Orphek and its app. Although I’ve explored the features and settings, I haven’t used them in my programming yet. From what I understand, the Helius program assumes your starting baseline is 100%, with the intention of acclimating new corals in a stable tank.

Currently, I’m using a custom program based on settings from my other tank, which runs on Radions, Kessil, and AI lights. After a brief PAR and spectrum measurement with a PARwise meter, I've set my channels as follows: 100% for channels 3-6, 70% for channel 2, and 60% for channel 1 during the first half of the schedule. In the second half, I use 100% for channels 3-6 and zero for channels 1-2.

With a relatively new tank, I’m cautious about potential issues with max settings on all channels (especially on Helius mod or Sun Moon Sync mode). I also prefer less yellow in the spectrum, so I’ve chosen this ratio based on PAR and spectrum readings. Even with these settings, I've noticed that the yellow and greens are higher in this tank compared to my other SPS-dominant tank, which has been running for over four years. But since I have been wanting to slightly increase my whites, reds and green, I am going to give the high readings a try. Since the light intensity is currently only at 55% and will continue to ramp up over the next few months, I may lower channel 1 and 2 if algae becomes an issue.

For reference, here’s my current light schedule:
  • Start: 13:00 – 0% all channels
  • Ramp-up: 13:00 - 13:45
  • Daytime (13:45–18:00): 55% channels 3-6, 39% channel 2, 33% channel 1
  • Evening (18:15–23:00): 50% channels 3-6, 0% channels 1-2
  • Ramp-down: 23:00 - 23:45
  • End: 23:45 – 0% all channels
I’m about to activate the second Natura with the same settings and will measure the PAR across the tank.

Thanks for sharing! I agree that app needs some work, but I like the hardware and the spectrums I've been able to make so far.

Update on the Natura. I made a program for the light and uploaded it successfully, but the light drops the program sometime in the middle of the night so that when the light should be at 5% at 8am it has reverted to the sun/moon schedule at 80%. Very strange. I have set up the "simple schedule" and I don't have this issue. Maybe it is user error?

Something you might want to check is whether any of the 'Expand' options are accidentally enabled

I only have the Lunar option enabled. I assume that connects the program to the lunar cycle from the sun/moon option? I am using the Helius program, but I have modified it to have a lower maximum power because I have no corals right now. The instructions are not great for how these programs interact with one another.

I think I figured it out. I can't have sun/moon enabled if I want a program to work. Apparently sun/moon will override a program.
Looking good ! I run a Atlantik about 6 months in and ramped up output. Contemplating adding more light. a bar , or natura or hybrid. Idk
I do like the color in my corals and am mainly SPS .
Cheers following along

Nice to have you along for the journey. The tank is covered in diatoms currently. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
