very cool!!! how old is your tank now?I think I'm about to have to frag the bottom head cause it's being shaded so it's not extending right. Lights are just kicking on usually it looks like one big fat head.
7 months about. What's that first coral you posted? Have you been reefing awhile?very cool!!! how old is your tank now?

pretty good choice for your first pick!First coral I added was this frogspawn. 2nd pic is what it looks like now.
that's some insane Growth right there! impressive!I’m not sure what my actual first coral was but my first sps was this purple monti cap that I didn’t know was purple at first lol. Now it’s about 10” across.
Thanks it's a 20g long almost 9 months old. Very new to the hobby lol. Here's a vid my gf made of it.pretty good choice for your first pick!
dang that's a sweet tank ! what size is that?
Actually looking back at it, I would say I wasn't ready for any sps yet. I never had tested anything other than ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Despite my ignorance, the coral pulled through and grew as I grew in the hobby. I didn't see the purple color come out until I started to improve my lighting, flow, and water parameters.that's some insane Growth right there! impressive!
Do you mind sharing little about your tank parameters when you and when you thought is was safe to add the sps (monti) to your reef? I.E how long it was going for and what you think your doing right in your reef to make it grow so well.

lol well I guess first I got to ask do you mind sharing what happened. next what did think made the biggest difference in the success to not have you kill all your coral?mine is long gone dead for years

Well I borrowed a friend's PAR meter and found that it was getting about 75 PAR with my Current USA lights. I upgraded to a Maxspect Razor 150w and slowly ramped up the PAR until it was at about 250.I can appreciate that feeling of ignorance in this hobby. what kinda lights did you end up getting when you upgraded.
