Life can be full of decisions we wish we could change or outcomes we wish we could control. And our reefs are no different. Maybe we jumped into something a little too quickly, not realizing the negative implications down the road. Maybe we are a little too lax or get lazy about maintaining our tanks. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes.

Assuming money was not a hindrance, personal time was unlimited, and you could utilize all the knowledge you've accumulated...If you could start over, would you? Why or why not?

I have several tanks. The oldest currently running is about 7 years old. I would definitely restart it knowing what I know now.

Luckily it's coming down soon and everything is getting transferred to a new build im working on!

I wouldn’t start it all over, but maybe make some tweaks. However that journey led to my knowledge and experience now, and if I ever started a new display tank, I’d apply that knowledge to it.

I voted other because I did sort of a restart last march. I tore down my 8yo 180g and started a WB 330.7 84x30x25" I didn't restart because there was anything wrong with the 180 but I wanted more open swim room for my tangs. Since it was a new tank I implemented a different method than I have in the past. Part of the fun for me having multiple tanks is trying different methods. I filled the tank with all dry rock and bare bottom but I filled the sump with old live rock from the 180g and created a cryptic fuge. I run socks the cryptic fuge and an ATS as the only filtration. I did bring most coral over along with all the fish.
@stewy14 I'm loving AFR in two of my tanks. My acros have really taken off since starting it but I have no proof it was the AFR that kick started them.
