Have you tried the XP8 in a different outlet to make sure it is not just an issue with the outlet? If you have the XP8 hooked to the command but do not use the power pack that came with the X4. It can cause damage to something since it is not a isolated power pack. The one in the XP8 is isolated. The Wave Engine also has a isolated supply and can be used with the XP8 but not the power pack that comes with the X4.I used the power plug that came with the x4. Everything else was removed when I unplugged the xp8. It was working fine yesterday with info.
If you had a short it would trip a breaker somewhere. The cord probably has a broken wire or it is the connection inside the XP8. Have you submitted a support ticket with CoralVue for this. You will get broken collective errors for this. You can delete the XP8 from the collective but you will have to do all the setup again. This is how we came to the conclusion it has a short somewhere in the power wire
I tried using 3 and 4 on their own, and switched pumps they just don’t seem to work. I am using 2 Tunze6105 and 2 Tunze6095. They all seem to work on line 1 and 2. I’m going to try a system reboot and see what happens. An admin on the hydros forum suggested rebooting and checking outputs with a volt meter.Even if you try one at a time? To rule out pump or wiring issues, try swapping one of the pumps on 3 or 4 with one on 1 or 2. Make sure it's an issue with the Hydros and not the pump.
If you turn on ONLY 3 or 4, does it work on it's own? I'm only asking because IIRC, there's a limit to how many amps they, together, can pull.
Are all the pumps the same?
What pump or pumps are you using?
FYI, I am the one on the Hydros form replying to you. So I didn't reply here also.I tried using 3 and 4 on their own, and switched pumps they just don’t seem to work. Oh cool, I will try the volt meter again later! What are we checking for exactly?FYI, I am the one on the Hydros form replying to you. So I didn't reply here also.
You assume correctly, adapter cables are required to run the TunzeIt hopefully will tell us if there is a controller problem or quad cable problem. I assume you have another cable between the quad cable and the Tunze pumps.
Correction it’s almost 90 days old not 9 weeks. Warranty is still active I hope.Yes, we figure it’s either the wire or the connection inside. I don’t want to void any warranty so we’re not opening anything up. I opened a ticket. It wouldn’t let me delete it so I left it alone. Easier in the long run when the xp8 gets replaced or fixed, I’ve only owned it 9 weeks. That’s not good.
I think they have a 1 yr warranty on these.Correction it’s almost 90 days old not 9 weeks. Warranty is still active I hope.
I had a beta unit for over a year and had no issues with it at all during the time I had it. The relays in that unit were 25 amp relays. Since the PC boards are made to fit with that relay I cannot see them changing to a different relay.Well, my days with Hydros are coming to an end and it can't be soon enough. Whoever buys my system will basically have a brand new system since CV has replaced just about everything at this point.
My 2nd XP8 failed day one with another stuck relay. It is clear to me CV is NOT using quality parts and the XP8 was not thoroughly tested.
I don't recommend Hydros to anyone but understand I'll be in the minority with that view. Apex will be back on in the next week or so and I can't wait.

The outlets work fine on the one I have. How many have been sold vs. how many have outlet failures? I bet there’s a wide difference there.
I got mine swapped out and so far so good… I’m happy with my hydros again.I'm sure there is. I'm 3 out of 16 with issues so far. That's way too many. 1 out of 100 in less than a week is way too many. Let alone 3 out of 16 on 2 brand new units.
If this was Apex doing this, people would be shouting from the rooftops.
Again, I'm far from the only one. The OP of this thread has even had issues with their XP8. One offs? Sure, I'll buy that. Worth waiting around and hoping more outlets don't fail? Not a chance. I've got $5 smart plugs with zero failures in over 18 months of use. They turn on and off every single day. They also don't lose connection multiple times a day like many of my Hydros products do. It's funny they're the only WiFi product with this problem.
