I have watched my ph go up very quickly when dosing for alk, and I'm wondering if you can maintain a higher level of alk if the ph will rise and stay there...but I think it's just a temporary spike, I am not sure if this will help or not, just something I've been watching on my tank.

I had the same issue in my 180. After 3 months of heavy dripping kalk I got it to stableize. I had it mint for 2 months until it started to go above 8.4. Now my tank has been stable at 8.7 - 8.8. Haven't dripped a drop of kalk in three months. If it were me. I would never drip that stuff again. Even with a ca reactor I have a hard time getting it below 8.4. Just my 2 cents

RLK......recalibrated probe a few weeks ago

I would start adding large doses of kalkawasser, that always works for me. If that wont work, I heard injecting ozone should do the trick.
