How often should I clean my filter and change carbon pads in a 125G tank

Depends on how fast they get clogged. If its a coral only tank and you are not feeding fish then you do not have to change carbon or clean filters very much

A canister filter system most likely is not gonna be good enough for bamboo shark just an FYI especially with no or very little live rock to help with filtration
No it’s for my smaller tank that’s houses non preadators
