I think that the AquaC Remora is the best HOB skimmer of all time. There are probably a few on eBay for cheap and you can run them with MaxiJet 1200 - no idea how complete that they would be. They are injection skimmers so you can hear them if you really listen.
You likely need a few of whatever you get to do a good job at removing organics, but even one can really help with gas exchange.

I like that one too but isn’t it only rated for 75g?
Doesn’t Reef Octopus make some nice ones?
Not sure if this is a rimmed or rimless tank though.
This is probably something she should make sure of prior to purchasing the skimmer.
