Oh big difference. Much wider spread, and better color out of the X. Corals seem to like it more as well too.

My skimmer was just making a crazy humming sound, took it all apart and throughly cleaned it on the fly. I found 12 trochus snails in it !!! 12!!! How is that even possible, the hole is only about as big as a #2 pencil. Ugh any ideas anyone on how to prevent this? This is my 3rd time since I’ve had this skimmer I’ve had to take it apart to de-snail it. I don’t blame the skimmer, it’s a great skimmer. But any ideas on how to stop this from happening would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that is amazing - perhaps fertilized eggs make their way into that hole and then feast on the dissolved organics...

I find baby snails in my skimmer often too. Usually they work their way up into the neck of the cup but whenever I do full clean to the body there always some there too. Makes me wonder if they like the environment with all the turbulent air. Don't think there much we can do.
You were on the right track. Aren’t we trying to replicate the sun. I say go the other direction, bigger, more

It’s a bicolor indo hammer that was eaten completely in my qt by my flame angel. It’s grown back extremely weird lol. Most of the tips were light blue when I bought it as well with black arms. It was really impressive in the store, lol.
