If it is Chaeto there seems to be a shortage from most local stores and online places these days. You could sell a golfball sized piece for $30!Just tossed so much macro algae. Harvest was overdue. I wish I knew some fellow reefers in Silicon Valley I could hook up when it comes harvest time! Such a shame to toss good macro with tons of pods![]()
If your pictures aren't dark, how do you know it is at night??Y'all have no idea what you're missing with night sight!!
Google knows magic.

No way! I threw away a large Wendy’s cup full and compressed the other night, lol. I’d be eating outback with that type of $$... lolIf it is Chaeto there seems to be a shortage from most local stores and online places these days. You could sell a golfball sized piece for $30!
I spit out my coffee..
Potentially, you can use reef weld, which is a heat reactive polymer. I used it on my tank even wet. The trick is that you have to be fast though. It cools and becomes hard under water incredibly quickly. They offer it in purple at Marine Depot. My vision: I wanted to keep my existing coral and transfer over my fish, and add oodles of acros.
When shopping for rock I compared them all, reefsaver, Fiji, Tonga, pukani, Caribbean. Price wasn’t really a factor because they last forever, I was mainly looking at filtration and aesthetics. I wanted something that didn’t look like everyone else’s scape. Even though it’s more challenging for coral placement I went with 75 pounds of dry Tonga branches. It was pricy, but I got some really nice complex branches.

Cleaned the sump and display out with vinegar and rodi and ran that though the system for 2 days then just rodi for 2 days, emptyed it, then more rodi running for 2 more days.
It came out like new. Treated myself to a emerald 10g Trigger ato resView attachment 953929
I began thinking about my scape after I got the rocks, i sure could of used reef2reef back then lol. I had no idea how I was going to arrange them. I wanted them to hold themself naturally without the use of epoxys. Looking back on it I should of just done the epoxy; they are caked with coraline already anyways. If there’s a way to retroactively do that after corals have attached let me know!
Nah I’m gonna go over the top, don’t want to make the glass even weaker by drilling multiple holes. There’s also benefits of not having as bad of a back siphon during power outages.@Hemmdog What are you drilling a return on that new 40 too?
What lights are you doing?ok ok. Was wondering that. Thanks
Nicee.Great question.
Going to try those Noopsyche k7 pro2 from the forum here.
They look promising especially at that price point.
Yea I made my own version of Steve’s leds but it was to bright, over 1000 par, and blending wasn’t good, I didn’t know what I was doing really back then. What are you rolling with Hemmdog? Was the bio cube topless with an LED already?
I got a 4 bulb 36” ATI and reefbrite I’ll be selling off soon if interested. Great for a 40B.
I didn’t know.. lol. I just used max amount of leds possible lol.1,000 par?? wow trying to see thru walls?
