Pros

The main advantage of Tapatalk is not logging in and out of multiple forums.

Conversations/threads are loaded by time. No discrimination based on which forum it comes from.
If you are on 2 car forums, 3 reef tank forums and 2 horse forums, they all come in effortlessly in time stamp order.

Tapatalk has a few thousand (more?) forums associated with it. Hard to find one on the net that isn't supported.


Cons

The forum owners put a lot of cool easter eggs into the sites that don't translate into Tapatalk.

The downside is missing the cool scripts within both the reef 2 reef mobile or regular site.

I don't get to see people's banners. Or side columns. Or signatures.
A tiny avatar and name and I need to click on that to see if someone posting something for sale bothered to put their location in. ;-)

Tapatalk only shows the top 5 threads in a category (aquarium discussion, lps, sps, etc.)
I am on too many talkative threads already. ;-) I miss a lot of threads I am not already subscribed to.

The minor annoyances of not being directly in the forum portal are completely overcome if you are on more than 1 forum portal.


There is always the 3 dots in the upper right to take you to "webview" straight to the actual portal.

I need to do that if I want to edit a post.

Not yet. We’ve been having some plumbing issues at our house, not aquarium related. So roto router is out here . Something with the pipes connecting to the main sewer, so the HOA is involved now... it’s a whole thing...
speaking of that @dantimdad im gonna have to send your frags out tomorrow. Maybe later this afternoon if roto router gets done sometime in the next few hours.

Vacuumed my skimmer chamber out since I was in there.
This thing is a beast, the bubbles seem much more turbulent compared to my old reef octopus. This baby is pumping 600gph on its own. I also really like how you can route the air intake from a “fresher” air source, or a CO2 scrubber ideally. I have it sucking in from outside the stand in the back. Excited to see some dark skim in the morning!
