1 day skimmate. My maintenance goes as such. Foam pad sock. Remove pad after day 1. Remover sock day two. Wash and repeat. Baste rock every other day before sock change. Let water clear before replacing sock. If i do any other way first chamber overflows to second and does not filter.

That doesn’t look like skimmate… based on your profile/history you have been doing this a while successfully so I’m wondering if there is a reason you skim so wet? Like that just looks like clean saltwater. Seems like a lot of extra salinity maintenance for what benefit?

what skimmers do u recommend for my tank? tideline aio 11.3
2.3 inch back wall
I don't know anything about that particular tank (and have a bad attitude about 'All In One' tanks that aren't actually all in one since they don't include a very basic piece of equipment), but I use a Tunze 9004DC on a 10g tank and I think it works fine.

Yes, it is probably the most basic piece of filtration we use. Look (or ask your parents to look) on Facebook marketplace or ebay for a used one. They can be expensive, but you don’t need the one with all the bells and whistles and fancy branding. Its basically a cylinder with a cup and a pump with a special valve called a venturi that pulls air into the water stream to create very fine bubbles. You could even build one with some PVC, a pump, and a hot-tub/jacuzzi jet valve. I did exactly this on my first setup when I was younger and didn’t have much money.

He was being mean… don’t get a damsel. Ever. GSP is great if you can keep it from taking over everything. But ya, he was telling you to stick to the easiest stuff. Which is actually not terrible advice, but I was catching a tone in the response…

Just joooking
Technically I already have one
Clowns are damsels!
Clownfish are not damsels. They are in the same family, but they are not the same and do not share the same behavior. Thats the equivalent of calling a chimpanzee a human. Damselfish are extremely territorial and in my opinion shouldn’t even be sold in fish stores. They are pure evil and will bully any other fish you add to your tank to death.

I am absolutely not trying to be mean.

If he can keep those alive for one year he is good to go

What I listed is all very hardy and can almost live through anything.

My first tank had a Duncan coral and 4 damsels.

After a year. Take the damsels back to the LFS

The only fish i hate with extreme predjudice more then true damsels is the ever so evil 6 line.

NEVER AGAIN.

The only 2 fish that has made me tear apart my tank to fish out because they were absolute terrors.

But they will kill each other off until 1 is left, and then they will kill off all the other small fish that they can pick on.

At least Chromis's stick to themselves in what to kill off.

Sorry, my mistake. Its often hard to get accurate tone across in text. I was reading way too far into your use of the word “bud”. Anyways, happy reefing!
