I am new to the forum- not new to hobby- I am located in Mexico NY ( just north of Syracuse).
I previously had a 180 dt with over 400gal sump/fuge all plumbed thru wall- mainly sps/ lps- ran halides and T5- then life happened and kids came 2 at a time.(identical twins) I was forced to get out and had local golf course buy my set up for their restaurant. My mother set up a small tank to take a few frags of some of my favorites. Fast forward 7 years and my mom has all but killed her tank- almost every inch was covered with the GSP she added, and a shriveled up Duncan remained- she made me take it and that’s were the relapse of my addiction starts-
I just recently purchased a complete set up from a reefer who was in hobby for >25yrs- he was an aquaculture nursery for Rochester area- 65gal drilled display with stand and canopy, 2 40 gal sumps, calc reactor, kalk reactor, 8 dose pumps, skimmer, expanded classic apex with many modules, 4x6 acrylic frag tank, 2 halide and T5 fixtures, salt water mixing station, RO/DI etc etc- the list could go on for days-
I decided to ditch the halides and picked up 4
xr30 G3 pros- I will definitely need some guidance with the radions when I get them built into canopy. I see some people running these with T5’s- is that necessary?
Still in the process of acid dipping equipment due to years of calcium build up- anxious to get water flowing- still need to source rock and sand-
already planning a trip to WWC in March- [emoji2]
