Is this a rolypoly? Looks like one to me but it's alive in my 45g... if not, what is it and is it bad?

Yes it is. they can live in water for a little. I had a centipede once in my water but eventually it just disappeared

Ya, you'll need a little different angled pic to tell for sure. The plates on the back do look particularly curved, as if to facilitate the rolypoly curling up. It looks like you also have some algae there, for them to be interested in. If you have some smallish rocks you can lift up, see if you can find any there. If there's more than one and it's under the rock, I would tilt towards a roly.

If you catch one, I would love to pay for shipping to get some close pictures of it.

Right after i took the picture it disappeared :( I tend to think it's a rolly though. I had 60% of the rock in that tank outside for 4 months bleaching (due to asterina stars). I then had it bayer dipped and soaking in rodi for a week. Put it in the new tank setup last night. (Which explains the cloudy water) Hard to imagine a rolly could go through all that then saltwater! Lol. I have never seen an isopod in any of my tanks but it looks like one of those too from videos I've seen but larger.

I'd rather not move the rocks if i don't have to cuz they'll probably not go back how i had them. I'm going to keep an eye out for it to appear again and catch it when it does. Thanks :)

looks like it's a good one. But it is a very blurry picture can you get a closer? The only thing that worries me is the back and seems thinner than the front and in my experience they are usually perfectly oval
