Glenn I am getting ready to setup my 265 Gallon tank in April and downloaded your calculator I am pretty sure I will ask more questions at that time about your calculator. Also do you have a fish list posted anywhere if not can you give a list? And as everyone else has said your tank looks absolutely amazing...When my tank grows up I want it to look like yours...

thanks !
good luck with the planning and startup of your tank
i never kept a fish list before, if i have time i will try to summarise it.
should any question arise , don't hesitate to ask.
with good control and understanding of water parameters the sky is the limit.

Thanks for your reply Glenn. I noticed you are running a modified Schuran air stone driven skimmer. Any reason you have not adopted a newer needle wheel skimmer which appears to be very common now a days? The reason asking is I also was thinking of using a air stone driven skimmer.

1-Energy efficiency with one pond airpump i can run up to 3 skimmers, the brine reactor and some other stuff.
2- cheap . airpump cost a fraction of venturi and needle driven pumps.
3- noise . Les noise than the use of airstones is not possible
4- high efficiency micro bubbles.

Downside is, the airstones need replacing ever 2 months.
But your venturi and air intake of the motor driven skimmers also need cleaning once in a while.

Well said Glenn! All are very valid points. This is the skimmer I am thinking of purchasing. If you look closely it has Boss Hog air stones which so far have been in operation for 2 years without replacement, only periodic cleaning. They are supposed to have 0.25mm bubble size.
