I am finally able to start my 125 build. Here is the very beginning. I have a 125 reef ready tank. 2 drains 2 returns drilled in the bottom. It cam with a 29 gallon sump but I think I want to make a sump out of one of my 55 gallons. Due to the size though and the stand setup I will have to do this first as I can only get the 55 in from the top. I will need some of you for plumbing advice in the.coming weeks. Sadly this also comes with the.decision to break down my freshwater tanks. Bye bye Cichlids ):

Every considered a custom sump? 55 may be too narrow for most equipment and proper flow and levels.

Take your time choosing the right equipment, Matt; buying the same type of equipment twice sucks!

I totally agree about the 55 being too narrow for decent equipment. I would consider a tank that's wider, even if you need to sacrifice some volume for it.

It looks like 16" deep is the thickest size I can get under there.

When I got my 240, I had glass cages build me an acrylic sump to my specifications. It's not super expensive and they've got a lot of stock sizes. You might think about getting one from them. Just a suggestion.

They may even be at the swap and if you have a rough idea of what you're looking for they may have something in stock they could bring for you to pick up. They're not the most responsive lot, but they usually get back to you within a week. You may do better if you call them but they can be a bit rude at times.

Their customer service is HORRIBLE but they're cheap and they'll build to your specifications, in either acrylic or glass. So sometimes it's worth dealing with their crap attitudes.

Do you know who made this tank? It looks to be the same dimensions as my old GC tank (72X24X18 deep) but I didn't know anyone else made tanks to these dimensions.

Well my Rodi unit was cracked when it came in so I have to order another one. Tomorrow I am going to begin breaking down some of my Freshwater tanks. Ill probably go trade in my Catfish tomorrow morning. I am off Wed, and I need to get the tank outside and hose the insides down, that should be fun lol. Then I have to get a new RO system and figure out where to install. I just dont see any place that I can store any amount of water really, more than a couple of gallons atleast. My garage does not have a water hook up, just the hot water heater.

Was it a used RO that you got?

I may have some replacement parts you can salvage off an old one. Which parts were cracked?

If it was new, then yeah...totally just get a replacement.
