Deal! Grand baby coming up!Okay. Cut me half of yours when you get it.
Lol. Y'all are all way too cavalier about this. I need to practice cutting a few more gigs until I'm confident enough to even consider cutting the red. If this one is lost it's essentially lost to the hobby as far as I know. But hopefully one day so we can start spreading it through the hobby.@gig 'em
No pressure!

It’s definitely easier to cut smaller ones. A work around is making them smaller through light deprivation. It’s not an ideal method and somewhat cruel, but I’ve noticed that when gigs are shaded they eventually shrink. You can turn a huge one into a smaller one through that and then have an easier time cutting it and then feeding the clones until they’re large again. Just a thought…You are a trailblazer.
I have two very large gigs since 2015 and they're now 24-30". I can't imagine having the balls to cut them.
Also, if gigs are more readily available, it would make the cutting experiment easier to try. However, finding a gig nowadays is like hunting for bigfoot.
Well I have some massive purple gigs. I can definitely give it a go and see how it turns outI’m not doing it. Lol
I wouldn’t say lost out of the hobby for good…I have a red gig! a baby one at that I’ve been nursing it back to health for the last 8 months finally showing some zoo repopulation.Lol. Nice looks interesting. Very unique. How do you know it's a gig and not haddoni?Still a LONG way to go but definitely recovering
I’ll try to get a top down view but the tentacle placement is different from haddoni plus the tips are starting to get a point. It also has two folds in the mouth, It’s hard to tell because it’s bleached but I’ll start a new thread up about it soon don’t want to hijackNice looks interesting. Very unique. Let’s see some more pics! Any more photos from before it was bleached out and shrunk to the size of a mushroom?I wouldn’t say lost out of the hobby for good…I have a red gig! a baby one at that I’ve been nursing it back to health for the last 8 months finally showing some zoo repopulation.
